Firing from the hip a cheat or not?

Can someone tell me if firing from the hip and getting one shot kills is a cheat in this game? I noticed this more and more in 0.98 and I am not sure if this is a cheat or some unknown skill players are using. Whatever it is it's so unrealistic unless you are close up and ruins the game for me. Has this been eradicated in 1.0 because I didn't get chance to play the the beta?

The AA, as in Anti Air? No, I'm talking about one on one with an enemy carrying an assault rifle and shooting from the hip and he kills you with his first bullet. Normally known as an aim bot to cheaters and if you haven't seen this then I'm not sure what game you are playing. I am just wondering if it is an aim bot they use or if it"s something they place on the screen to get an idea where the first shot hits.

Point your gun at someone, be it from the hip or sighted, and the bullets will travel in that general direction. If your face is in the path of the bullet that's a one shot kill.

So are you saying it's not a cheat and that there is no such thing as an aim bot in this game? You see it happens that often to me I was sure it was a cheat. If it didn't happen that often I wouldn't have mentioned it.

Cool, but how does this work if you cannot enable it game? Do you record the game or something and view it later? A cheat cannot deny footage of them cheating!

Isn't the deviation system in PR bitching enough that one hitting from hip is pretty impossible even with aimbot? Even if it marks the head, it doesn't mean the server decided its a hit.

It's dependable of distance really, if you don't sprint its not really impossible to get good hits even at small distance away. Also, iron sights hop to eye level quite fast and a good player is already pulling the trigger before the rifle is up.

In 1.0 it wasn't all that hard to one-shot from the hip. Depends on weapon type, too. It's very easy with pistols even in .98 (or at least in .95, dunno if that was ever changed), they just have little deviation on short range.

dont think cause its a low chance to happen that it will not happen ... probablity is a *****, if it can happen, it will happen and more then you would want to. if he shoots from the hip, id only be suspicious if he really only fired one bullet and not a full burst.

if he has a solid aim and he was sitting still for a while, his first bullet will go where he aimed, even if not zoomed in

Hip firing at close range wins me more fights then not, the trick is to try to not empty your entire mag in the first 2 seconds. That way if you walk in all "Rambo" and he sees your Rambo-ing and raises you a "Commando" you can try to place a shot in the chaos.

Chances are someone shot a grenade into the room though.

I've gotten that 1-shot-kill-from-the-hip fluke before. I almost felt like I'd won the lottery. It was over so fast that it barely had time to register.

I get tons of kills by hipfire in Close Quarters Fighting.



I remember one time I was on the CIA server on Kokan in a sn!p3r squad. My recon squadmate died and i was alone on a cache... defending it with my mighty sniper rifle !
Then like 13 insurgents run in and aiming down sights is too much time.... so I was picturing a reticle on the screen.... i hid by a corner, BAM BAM BAM BANG BAM BAM.... killed them all


But even aimbot can NEVER do that well with the silly hip fire.

I put a transparent tape with a little dot and place it on my screen where the bullet would land. That way I have aiming without actually aiming, though it's not as accurate as aiming because of the recoil. But in close combat situations, having not to push the right mouse button which take a half second to aim can mean life or death.

The only exception are the MMGs, like the M240, which is a true hip fire.

I have no idea what is this bug, but I want to ask, how do I know how not to use it? I mean, how is this bug looks or something? cause I fire from the hip often in close quarters... and I am not the person who would want to be banned from servers on PR.

Nugiman is talking about the fact that Anti-Aircraft weapons can be fired realtively effectively withoiut aiming. You'll rarely be in situations to abuse that bug.
