Different kits?

Post by Str8V8 »

First off, sorry if this is going to be a dumb question, but how is one supposed to get one of the kits such as automatic rifleman or the other limited ones? Are they assigned or do you just have to get to the server early and pick it? Again, sorry if this is a dumb question, this if my first day playing, but this is probably one of my favorite games I've played in a LONG time. And the community is awesome. Thanks guys!

automatic rifleman = needs at least four ppl on your squad
other kits = depends on number of players, snipers and HATS are avaliable only 2 per team

it has nothing to do with getting early on server to pick them, if its already assigned, u cant request it

btw u can request kits from supplay crates or APCs

just play a little and u will get the use of it
good luck

Everything that has 'rifleman' in its name, except from the rifleman kit itself, requires 4 people in your squad, for example automatic rifleman, rifleman AT, rifleman specialist and rifleman AP. The grenadier and marksman does also require a minimum of 4 people in your squad. "More" special kits, if I can call them that, requires at least 2 people in the squad. Kits like these are the HAT, sniper and combat engineer. Same goes for the combat medic/corpsman - you need at least two squad members to request it or spawn with it. The crewman- and pilot kit only requires 1 person in the squad.

The maximum of the most special kits per team is 3, there's also a maximum amount for the other kits (IIRC), but I'm not sure what the exact amount is.

I'm sure the manual will tell you this if you're interested in reading it; it might come in handy.

Wrong. If one of the two who has the kit drops it you can often get a 3rd one.

Also, while you are playing PR just ask questions, but make sure you let people know you are new and they will gladly teach you.

you can get four total, but only after a certain time. You know when a kit is lost in the field and it takes a certain amount of time to be requested again? It's the same timer. So if you hold both hat kits long enough, drop both, request two ones, you can total 4.

It exists so the enemy cant just kite your AT all game, not that anyone ever does that.

Hah, I remember that, in 0.95, where you could keep the enemy sniper & HAT kits and they couldn't request them, trolololol

People sometimes do that with the Combat Engineer kit on Insurgency. Jihad dirtbiking is actually more popular than you might think. :P

I think that happened yesterday. Can't remember which server, but I remember seeing a red techie ramming an AAV before exploding. Pretty awesome :D
