Connection to server has been lost

Post by matty1053 »

I have been recieving these today.... for some reason.

I have wirless.
I am not gonna wire a wire to my pc either. Router to far away.

But before it dissconnects.... it looks like the game FROZE. Then it goes to the server browser w/ the error: your connection to the server has been lost.

My speeds...
NOW.... I think someone is downloading "stuff", or someone in my neighborhood is doing some serious gaming I guess lul.

Image

On a good day about 10:00am.... 35 mbps down, 15mbs up
12pm.... 30mbps down, 12mbps up
3pm.....32mbps down, 11mbps up
5pm... 30mbps down, 14.4mbps up
8-10pm... 24mbps down, 10mbps up.
12am about 35mbps down, 10mbps up.

But Most likely it's a neighbor downloading "stuff" or doing some serious 120p online gaming.

Just asking this question cause it's on me nerves! Especially if I am a chopper pilot full of friendlies then BAM crashed from lag. :(

Servers I went on:
PRTA (Disconnected about 2 times, played in morning.)
CIA (Dissconnected about 6-7 times, played from aftern00n to about 10pm)
TG (None)

I live in Detroit Michigan.

I copied this from another forum where people have the problem with Battlefield 2. But it might be worth giving a shot.

Solution 1:
  • - Download PBsetup from here: PunkBuster Online Countermeasures [evenbalance.com]
  • - Extract the files in a folder
  • - Run PBSETUP.exe
  • - Click "add a game"
  • - Select "Battlefield 2". The path of the game should be detected automatically, if not, point it to the right path.
  • - Click check for updates
  • - Once the downloads are over, you'll get a message "Battlefield 2 is up to date" or similiar. you may now close the application.
Solution 2
  • - Click on the windows logo/start button
  • - In the searchbar, type services.msc
  • - Press ENTER
  • - A list of services should now be in front of you.
  • - Click "extended" tab
  • - Search for "UPnP host devices" or something similiar (the description is something like: Allow hosting of UPnP devices blablabla)
  • - Right click it
  • - Click Properties
  • - I don't know how to translate this, but there is an option like "startup", in the general tab. You can choose between: Automatic (delayed startup), Automatic, Manually, Disabled. You must choose Disabled.
  • - Click on "stop service"
  • - Click "apply" and close that little windows.
  • - Search for "SSPD discovery" and do the same things that you did above.
  • - Close everything
  • - Reboot.
Solution 3
  • - Open chrome/IE/firefox
  • - Type in the adress bar 192.168.0.1 and press enter. if nothing work with that IP, try with one of these: 192.168.1.1, 127.0.0.1, 127.0.1.1. With one of these IPs you should be able to open up your router's page.
  • - Log into the router panel (username is usually "admin" or "administrator", aswell as the password)
  • - Once you are in, you should search for an option called UPnP, and disable it. it might be somewhere in the advanced options, i really can't help you with this one because it's not on my router, and every router it's different, so you might or might not have it.
Good luck I hope it works.

Download and install Latency Fix 3 from here:
Leatrix.com

It's a small program that will constantly ping some servers to make sure your wireless network doesn't drop out.

You need to extract the punkbuster updater into the 'PB' folder in the BF2 program files before you run it.
You're hit and then hear the shot.

oK.... So it did sort of work..
I lasted a little bit longer in a match. Almost a full match. But still lags out.

IDK what the issue is.

It worked well LITO, but i did lag out still.... didn't seem frequently.

Ever since 1.0 was uninstalled it seems like, I have been losing connection.

What is the exact manufacturer and model number of your router, and of your wireless card/dongle ?

Could be something as silly as an automated firmware update, or a hard reset, caused something to change.
You could also try creating rules to open all the TCP and UDP ports for BF2 in your router management screen.

I'm not sure how to help you out on this one,
you could try updating your WNA3100 firmware:
wna3100

You could download processlasso free , and give try this:
3. Download Bitsum ProcessLasso Free. Make sure you download the correct version, Free 32 bit or Free 64 bit, Process Lasso - Automate and optimize process priorities, CPU affinities, power profiles, and more!
-- Start PR, alt tab to desktop, open ProcessLAsso window, right click on PR.exe, TR.exe, BF2.exe, PRMumble.exe and pnkbstra.exe and pnkbstrB.exe and give them default priority status of High, set the Tr PR and BF2 to gaming mode, and give them high or higher access to RAM.
Also try to set those processes to Gaming Mode in the ProcessLasso rightclick menu for each process..

It's doing it again after a few days of un-connection lost.

I accidently dropped me USB Wifi key and then plugged it back in and it worked. But now today it's doing the weird connection lost thing (It freezes gamepay, but I hear voices still on mumble, then back to server screen)

did you find a solution? i have the exact same problem. game was smooth for a year and change, then i uninstalled 1.0 causing an error. reinstalled, and ever since i'm getting dropped from a game at random intervals. just sticks me back in lobby with "your connection to the server has been lost."

a few other symptoms: at one point i could see on the browser that the ping on the server had jumped beyond 400, but my squadmates were telling me in game that it was still in the low 40's.

i've tried a lot of fixes this last week and nothing is making a difference. sometimes i get 3 rounds in, sometimes it's out in 30 minutes.

About 2 1/2 rounds in! :(

I was flying a jet when I got lagged out too! :(

It must be something weird. Can't wait to see if 1.0 will have this silly issue :(
