Question about Project Reality

Post by Drekkz »

Can I play Project Reality on Battlefield 2 if I bought it from Steam? If so, where do I extract the PR files to?

Thanks, game looks really amazing and can't wait to play it.

Of course you can. PR will automatically find BF2 location when you'll install it so no need to worry about it.

However I'd recommend you to disable the overlay when you'll play PR, otherwise you might meet some issues with punkbuster.

Alright, sweet. How do I disable the overlay though? Also, should I wait till all the parts of the PR full client are done to do the launchers for the three parts, or do them one at a time while the next one downloads?

You don't need to wait until all parts download. Each part is separated installer, but you will need to install all 3 in correct order to be able to play it. Also you will need to install .98 patch, after installing .97, to play on public servers.

Alright thanks. When I tried doing thw launcher for the first part it said I didn't install something yet or something along those lines. I guess it was because I haven't launched BF2 in Steam yet. I'll try again after that.

Yes, before launching PR you should launch vanilla BF2, create account, and ever play one round, to make sure everything will work fine in PR.

Alright, I launched BF2 through Steam and the launcher worked. Time to wait about 2 more hours for the rest to download! ;)
