Bug on my way to PR1.0 final

Post by rep »

Due to the release of the preload of PR1.0, I was so excited that I decided to download it right away and prepare my system for the installation in a few days. So as the description said, I removed the PR1.0_beta manually. That worked fine but after the uninstall, I noticed that the Icon for the PR.98 exe disappeared. After checking the directory of the "old" PR I found the PR.exe again, but the icon was gone too. Then after double clicking the exe the first frame that always occurs when launching PR showed up and afterwards nothing happend.

In short: After uninstalling the beta, PR98 does not work anymore. This is actually no problem since the PR1.0 is available on friday. But I've got 1 question along with that: Do I now have to uninstall PR.98 manually too, or will the PR1.0 Installer still do that for me?

Best regards,

Okay i might have found the problem myself: Due to the uninstall the folder "profiles" gets also deleted in the PR.98 directory... (At least I think that there was a folder named this before?!)

I didn't expect that :|

So for everyone who wants to play PR until the 1.0, do NOT uninstall the BETA ;-)

Now its me again posting on my own thread..

I have to update the statment I made in the post before: The problem does not have to do with the profiles!

I found out that the normal bf2 didn't work also. So I checked an old backup I've made. And yep.. I got PR and BF running again.

What i did was to copy this files: msvcr71d.dll, RendDX9.dll and vtuneapi.dll into my Bf2 main folder and now everything works just fine.

So if anyone wants to be sure that BF runs after uninstalling the PR Beta I would suggest to backup your Bf2 files, unless you want to re-install bf2.

PS: @DEVS: If its only me having those problems feel free to delete this thread.

I'm personally just going to back up my profiles and delete everything PR and BF2 and reinstall.

I would suggest the same. But if you do not want to wait until the release:

But be warned: I do NOT know how trustworthy this site is!!

You can still google them on your own

Msvcr71.dll download - OriginalDLL.com

Renddx9.dll download - OriginalDLL.com

Vtuneapi.dll download - OriginalDLL.com

I recently had to 're install VBF because missing msvcr70.dll and msvcp70.dll were causing PB kicks so I have stored these files and a few other problem ones like rendx9 and rendx92 so if the problem reappears I can just drop then back in.
