PR 1.0 Unable to Play! Please Help! (0xc0000005)

I have installed PR 1.0 and it installs and updates just fine, but when I click the "play" button it gives me the error message: "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000005). Click OK to close the application.

This happened during the Beta as well and I was unable to play it because of this, and got no helpful responses to my thread on the subject when the Beta was out. I played .981 just fine and had no problems up until the 1.0 release. I have tried everything from reinstalling all of BF2 and PR, to running as admin and restarting my computer. None of which has worked yet.

I'm getting extremely frustrated at the situation at hand and I have no idea what to do. Nobody else seems to have had the same problems as me so I can't get any idea as to how to fix the issue. As of now it looks like I will never be able to play PR again. :/

My processor is an i7 CPU 950@ 3.07GHz
Memory: 12.0GB
64bit Windows 7
my graphics card is a Radeon HD6850

Please help me solve this issue, I really like playing PR and it is pretty much the only game I even play to pass the time between studies and training.

It could be an installation issue and wherever you are installing the mod. Have you tried to reinstall the game? Could be that the installation was incomplete, could be that the downloaded file is corrupt.

are you mounting the .iso as a virtual drive,k or using winrar to unzip the .iso?

Try this:

mount it to a virtual drive, we'll use drive Z: as example.
Double click "My Computer"
Right Click Z: drive, in submenu, select Explore
Run Setup.exe ( instead of the Autorun file that is causing your problem)
That should get your installation started.

I've tried both mounting it using Virtual Clone Drive and unzipping by using WinRar. I also just did the thing you suggested and it did not work. Same problem as before. :/

0xc0000005 is an access violation that is a Windows Error.
There is no easy solution.
How many times have you tried to install PR1.0?

We can try to avoid the PRlauncher.exe file in your Program Files directory...
1. install pr1.0 (if already installed skip this step)
2. using winrar , unzip the .iso somewhere and make note of the location
3. Go to the location, find the autorun.exe , start it.
4. click Play.

When I say no easy answer, I mean it. Can be a virus, a bad RAM stick, a bad HDD, bad mobo, a corrupted windows file, or something else.

First, easiest to check, see if you have a highly fragmented PageFile:

Check your Page File, if set to a sliding value, I suggest
deleting pagefile.
rebooting.
resetting pagefile manually to a single minimum/maximum.

then optionally:
manually setting it to a single minimum/maximum, and getting a defrag progam that will move the pagefile to the beginning of your hard drive. A free option:FAQ Special files - How do I defragment "C:\pagefile.sys" (the swapfile)?

After that,
REINSTALL BF2, patch 1.41 full and 1.5 full. then install PR 1.0
a virus scan is recommended.
a malware scan is recommended.
a memtest of RAM is recommended.
a hard drive integrity test is recommended.
