Unable to get the latest version information - PR1.0 install problem

Hello gents,

I had a PR .98 version wich was uninstalled before i tried install 1.0

Then i tried install PR from ISO but i have an error when installer checks information on Internet:



The spanish part says "Time out for the operation".

My system is Windows 7 64 bits and i can confirm the BF2 boxed is working.

Firewall Comodo, Spybot and Avast are shutdown during installation. Once i was desesperated i tried to put the computer in DMZ and still dont work. I tried with other DNS because looks like a kind of connection problem.

If i continue the installation game doesn't starts and i think it lacks a minipatch.

I think you tried to update the exact moment the update server was taken offline to prepare from .30 to .31 ,
please try again and let me know.

Can i have MD5 of the ISO?

You can skip that installer message no worries, it won't cause any issues with the game or anything, just means you couldn't connect to the server to see if there was a new installer available (which there isn't btw, installer versions are different to the game version).

Why doesn't your game start? Is there any error message?

No specific error. When i double click shorcut it show dogtags that remain forever. hard disk led is doing nothing.

In the end i must kill the process. Thast the reason i though patches were a must.

I just tried Desura version but it does the same with dogtags in the middle of desktop.

How long have you left it on the dogtags, it might take a while on slow machines/hard drives? Try deleting Documents/Battlefield 2 and Documents/ProjectReality. See if there is a <bf2 install directory>/mods/pr/bin/PRLauncher.log file, and if there is, paste it here.

Finally seems its working.

I passed Antimalwaremalwarebytes, spybot s&d, superantispyware and a complete ccleaner XD

Then i installed again on desura and dogtags just are showing few seconds before the launcher detects and download a patch. Right now im patching and i hope im not going have no more problems.
