New Player HALP!!
I love the idea of this mod and i get the core mechanics of it all. My biggest problem is i have no idea how to tell the factions apart on the battlefield. I make sure to not tk but by then the enemy knows i am an enemy before i do and DEAD. Are there any pictures or videos showing the different factions and their uniforms?

Not that I know of, but playing in COOP servers (such as Veterans Gaming) for a while let's you get a really good grip on uniforms and recognition of them. This is something that only comes with experience and time, and it took me a few days to get to grips with the uniforms too.Lawle44 wrote:I love the idea of this mod and i get the core mechanics of it all. I tend to look for fetures that stick out, e.g.
IDF - Big hats!
Russians - Light green Camo (almost shining)
German - Uniform looks dark and blocky

CrazyHotMilf: can you release PR 1.0 today cause its my birthday and i want to play it ? because its gonna be very nice and every thing

Re: New Player HALP!!
use the map
look for uniform differences
stay with your squad and ask them
it's a skill to be learned.

Re: New Player HALP!!
PR requires some basic knowledge of Military stuffs of world's ARMY.
U can actually check those screen shot taken from the Game and have a basic understanding of the uniforms.
I do advise u to find a small scale squad, and ask ur squad members for help.(Squad Leader in small squad can actually pay more attention to u, coz he dont have to care too much ppl.)
All u have to do is following ur squad mates and listening to them. When time goes by, u will getting to know that.(But even old folks commit lots of teamkills in Game. So it can not be avoided. Like, when u are following the enemies, trying to kick their asses, if there is a friendly tank appearces, u will likely to die.)
Plus, USMC and MEC uniform is somehow close to each other, u can recognize them from their weapons.
Check ur map is extremely important too, when u are using thermal, or engage targets far away from u.
Tips: Uniforms are not the only way to distinguish friendly, there are differences with movement too!
For example, PLA soilders walk with a big step, while US troops walk in smaller step.
Every factions have some differences in almost every aspects and if u play enough long, u will know.
Hope this will help, good luck on the battlefield!

It's simple really - know your AO. Before you move anywhere, check your map to see where friendlies are. You should be moving from cover to cover, not exposing yourself. If you see some one, take note of your compass direction and get into cover. Check the map to see if there are friendlies and if not, engage.
It takes practise and you will eventually become used to the gameplay with regards to the specific forces uniforms and soldier models, as well as tracer colours (OPFOR tend to be green from barium salts, BLUFOR are red from sodium) and gun sounds.

I know the feeling. I had the same problem when it came the French forces vs the Chinese their camo for their uniforms was hard to tell apart but a good why to identify friend from foe would be to look at the map.

Well, best way to learn is to play. Join a squad, and piggy back of the other players, ask them questions. Best way to learn to identify, is with [a] time, sounds of the weapons , [c] weapons models, [d] helmets/face [e] silhouettes [f] colors. It takes time. there are lots of player models and map varyation, to relax, you'll get it.

Re: New Player HALP!!
1. Map - Use it BEFORE engagement.
Find out where your team is and the most likely approach of enemies.
2. Stay with your squad and shoot at what the squad leader tells you to shoot at.
3. Uniform and Kit Geoemetry differences - Size, colours and shapes.
4. Weapon looks and weapon sounds (In 1.0 I've been able to 'pickup' on the AK and PK sounds...personally haven't been able to do that before now, I will probably pickup more sounds with more play).

Right I stand corrected then. I thought there still where standard weapons that could be picked up but I guess they went all in and "fixed" it.carmikaze wrote:Not in 1.0.
