v1.0 Intro Movies

With "view intro movies" deselected in the launcher options menu, great option by the way, there is a lot of dead time before the main menu loads, a black screen for maybe 10-15s followed by a black screen with the PR loading cursor for another 15s.

With the movies enabled, the same dead time exists, only with the 10s PR video in between the two segments.

Its the time it takes for BF2 to log into your account as it does it now automatically, same thing happened in earlier versions if you used the automatic login. Only difference now is that before it would show the screen which said "logging in", This is not visible in 1.0 but the time it takes is same.
I have not noticed that the Intro movie had any effect on how long the black screen was.

I beg to differ. Before the launcher I would log in in under 6 seconds, now I too experience a long wait for the black screen to disappear.

That's because before you had:
intro
load of login
login screen
login wait

now it's all in one. It's the same length, probably with some additional 1.0 stuff being loaded so a bit longer.

There was a clean cache option in the PR launcher during beta, but there is no such option now. I had the same problem in the beta, cleaned it and it was about 15-20 seconds faster.

As a matter of fact i have the same problem now again, but i dont really remember how to clean it manually, been such a long time.

It's still there, it's just under 'Support' in the browser rather than in the options menu

Ah yeah, same as in the beta then. I thought it was under play. And i thought support linked to the website.
