Re: Major Performance Issues
Sam, your solution isn't really working out for me at all.
I'm still convinced the prblem (my problem, anyway) is launcher/mumble/playercount related.

Re: Major Performance Issues
Yeah I tried Sam's approach. I appreciate the advice but to no avail. Specific maps I get fps drop's to 20's even when I look specific ways. No other PR version gave me any issues. I play bf3 , Witcher 2, CIV V, Shogun 2 etc. on ultra no issues with vsync on games that have it. There is something funky with 1.0. Some maps I'm fine. Some I suffer a lot. It makes no sense.

Re: Major Performance Issues
I turned core parking off, used Process Lasso to set prbf2 on all high.
Did a huge OC, deleted everything else except for BF2+mods, defraged my whole pc
used the nvidiaInpector to tweak bf2 graphics my laptop might die soon but im glad i can play pr with frames higher than 20

Re: Major Performance Issues
I've tried RadeonPro but it has no pre-set profile for BF2. Can you show us what settings/ tweaks the nVidia one uses?SAM609 wrote:Nvidia drivers has this set of profiles that contains many kind of fixes and workarounds for games bugs that should eventually boost the performance of the games ! infact nvidia's BF2 profile has 24 of this fixes ! but since DEVs changed the name of executable file to PRBF2.exe in 1.0 , nvidia driver doesn't recognize the game as BF2 and therefore doesn't apply this fixes to it !
So I just basically exported the BF2 profile with Nvidia Inspector and changed the name of executable file inside it and then saved it as Project Reality BF2 profile ! I don't know how much it'll boost the performance of the game , but there should be some !
PS: ATI has a similar program called RadeonPRO that can be used to do the same thing for ati graphic card !
Edit: With RadeonPro just running in the background PR crashes on launch.

Yea mostly, fixed the low fps caused by all the effects not the 100p.[R-CON]Psyrus wrote:It fixed your problems?

These performance issues are weird as fuuuark. All on the highest ~25 FPS, all on the lowest ~27 FPS around the same area of the map lol.

With tree/object heavy maps, the draw calls make almost every cpu bottleneckedSouls Of Mischief wrote:Dunno.

There is more options for optimus in the profiles that I need to test ! so report back the result !

I had this exact problem in beta , but AncientMan fixed it in recent version ! you just can try my temp fix for it in HERE ! it helped me a lot back in beta version !Raklodder wrote:
Thanks sir, there is indeed an increase of frames per seconds since the two latest patches where added, however that PR Launcher (prlauncher.exe) is still to high and never uses nothing less than 50%.

Re: Major Performance Issues
I tried SAM's fix for the issue and it didn't really help. I find that in-game is USUALLY find until I look at a city, then my frame rate drops massively. It seems something to do with cities is screwed up and requires much optimization.

Re: Major Performance Issues
Did anyone notice that after closing PR there are like 4-6 PR Icons in your taskbar?? I dont know if its just a visual "bug" or could it actually be that the PR launcher is starting over and over again?

Not all cities are problematic. Muttrah certainly isn't.
Though the one in Khamisiyah is.

None of the steps I have taken have influenced my frame rate in a positive way. What has changed so much since .98 ?

Re: Major Performance Issues
Prlauncher sometimes still starts using huge amounts of CPU, its mumble related.

Re: Major Performance Issues
When you start PR, the launcher will take some more cpu power because it's doing some stuff. But once loaded (and you're loading into a game for example), its use of the cpu should be very limited. Do you mean you still have cpu issues when playing?

Yes, sir! It stays at 50% (used to be 99%) no matter what, at all times when playing on a server.[R-DEV]AfterDune wrote:When you start PR, the launcher will take some more cpu power because it's doing some stuff. I checked the profile. What did you change except enabling SLI, even though most people do not use it?
What is this Undefined stuff at the bottom?
