* in squad name = training for newbies

Post by doop-de-doo »

I've figured out a way to allow noobs to identify squads who are willing to train new players.

Any SL willing to take on new players should put an * at the beginning of their squad name. i.e. *Inf mum, *Tanks, etc..

If you like it, spread the word and tell the noobs.

Hm, good idea actually. Wouldn't have so many players in that squad though, maybe 4-6 ;-)

Hmm...
Newbie tank squads sounds worrying.

If the Squad is lead by a veteran player or there is a veteran player teaching him to lead and managed the that squad then I have no problem with that.

Hehe, my idea of a training squad with this thread would be "Learning*"

Honestly if I were a noob I would join the squad named. Newbiesex. Makes me wanna learn pr quickly.

But I will start a squad with * in it.

Oh, sweet Jesus complete noobs should not be driving any assets. What I've seen they can't do anything well. There should be a driving license or something like that.

Also hello. I just joined the forums, but I've been playing for a while.

Yep :D

A Newbie don't know the game

A Noob don't know anything, especially about communicating with other people

The idea of a * is good especially since the squad-name length is so limited you still have room for your actual purpose.

It is also a bit more subtle than plastering a big noob sign on your squad, no offence Pvt.LHeureux. I already been in one of your trainee squads once just because I wanted to help the overall performance and relieve you a bit as 7 trainees can be a bit tough. You did a great job btw.

The people who need to know your there to help needs more than a * to let them know though... so it's kind of a paradox :D

Well, if you find a noob(ie) you can pass him on to a squad which is accepting them (see that *inf squad? they're training new guys!).

Actually, it's not hard, provided it's an experienced player with a non-experienced one. I've done plenty with noobs and armor before (not jet/cas).

Also I think that new players seldom look at training videos for PR wich is actually needed if youre new. in that way the playerbase that allready exists dont have to teach all the stuff to pple all the time, but you have a very good point with the * symbol for new player squads.. I keep that in mind, I think its smarter to just name it "Rookies" or "Training" or "recruits" and skip the retarded and negative word noob. Noob is a respectless thing to call other players.

It's not. What's needed is - as I said in a different thread - the correct mindset. You don't need the skills, you don't need the knowledge, you just need to want to play the mod correctly.
