Error 59 Cannot Update

I know a lot of other people have been getting this error but I cannot solve mine. I torrented the 1.0 installer yesterday and it is still installing the open beta. I have tried to uninstall/reinstall multiple times, still to no avail.

Uninstall the open beta (this can be done from program and features, uninstall all "Project Reality" entries), make sure the file you downloaded was "prbf2_1.0.29.0_full.iso", and that you're starting the game with the shortcut it provides.

Sorry to open an old thread but I am having a similar issue but I am using Desura and it says Error 59: update failed the version for this update does not match the installed version. Installed: 1.0.29.0, Required: 1.2.0.0 could use some help I have already uninstalled and reinstalled both desura and Pr.

Try this:

Try deleting:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\update.lock

Then repair the installation in Desura.

Then you should be able to launch and then update from a clean install.

This depends on where you installed BF2,
