It would be fantastic !Stealth Clobber wrote:I saw earlier in the thread that the French voices are rather silly. I happen to know a man and his brother that speak French fluently (they are from France), and guess what, they work at a recording studio! One of them has a higher voice than the other, so I think SL and Grunt could be different there.
Anders if you are interested in replacing the French voices (cause I believe they are vBF2 original are they not?), then PM and I'll ask him if he's up for it.

I am french, and I can confirm that french voices sound rather silly. The ones that anders posted are pretty agressive if you ask me, no offense to Kabeb it was worth giving it a try
Unfortunately I don't know anyone among the french community that owns some kind of little studio set, so it's a great thing if Clobber actually knows someone, just have to see if they're up for it and if they sound okay, since some too strong accent could ruin everything.

Yeah, you won't have to worry about quality Anders, the studio is award-winning. I'll ask him if he's up for it (I don't see why he wouldn't be, but he is pretty busy).
EDIT: He's up for it. We should be recording on Thursday.

There's no such thing as common arabic, you'll have to go for a specific national dialect. Egyptian (Cairene to be specific) is the most untypical arabic dialect, not using a variety of consonants, but also the most widely understood because of (former) egyptian dominance in television and other media.[R-DEV]-=anders=- wrote:Yep we really need new arabic voices! Modern Standard Arabic refers to the language used in writing in the whole of the arabic world. It's a separate language that's not really spoken anywhere, except sometimes by religious figures and intellectuals. In panarabic days there was a vision that people could use this language to understand each other (a sort of Arabic language-Euro), this concept might be used to reflect an (realistically impossible mind you) unity between the members of the MEC, however Arabs will find it hilarious if MEC soldiers will talk like their teachers and sheikhs.
Great news about the French voices btw! But how long have these guys been living in the States?

I'm not sure how long they've been living here, but it's been quite a long time. He still travels to Paris quite often though.Wakain wrote:Great news about the French voices btw! But how long have these guys been living in the States?

I'll probably give it a try actually when I'm back to my flat. My headset is not bad I'll just see how it'll sound.

Indeed it'd be cool to listen to them so we can have a "french opinion"

Already gave my feedback, but there are not many French members in the team, would be good to have your opinion as well.

I think the soldiers should talk like they know each other...atm most sound so...official. If you are under fire and you shout out the enemy position or that you spotted them, then you probably wouldnt have it in that tone that our commo roses give us now

And it would be nice if the grunt voices could be more aggressive, you should hear how exhausted the soldiers you're playing are.Quobble wrote:I think the soldiers should talk like they know each other...atm most sound so...official. Re: Voice actors needed!
French Update #2, more aggressive voices are recorded, including some different translations at the request of devs (although the actor thinks some of them were better the way he translated, he recorded both anyway).
