Sucks! I have had so many disconnects today alone. very frustrating. I think out of 100 rounds joined i have finished maybe 3, and i had to rejoin the server multiple times.

I just bought a 25ft ethernet cable. Still Lost Connection after an amount of time. Rejoined the server and Lost Connection as soon as I hit squad assignment.

i entered those ports though my Norton firewall; it was looking good for a moment. The problem still persists, sadly.

Very frustrating.

I plugged directly into my modem and lost connection immediately when joining a server.

This is by far the most confounding issue I've come across! I can't think of what could be causing it over such a range of countries/hardware/ISPs/etc...

Officially stumped~

Even though I'm one of =]H[= server techs that helped install 1.0 servers for HARDCORE. I also get disconnected from my own server after playing ~15 minutes.
  • I have 10-12 m/s ping (server is in Chicago, where I live too)
  • Comcast ISP (No issues with my modem)
  • Turned off my firewall

If someone doesn't mind, and has the opportunity... could you take your PC over to a friend's house (preferably using a different modem/ISP) and test there. It would be great to rule out network config issues completely, so we can focus on looking at what's wrong with the game, if anything.

I'm gonna try to plug in and plug out my modem and router and then try to reset my router to factory default.

I had a it from Google over for the week (he was on vacation) He said that it looks to be the 100 players servers. He also said that if u have ping 185 or below should be NO ISSUE
but guys lets hang in der and wait for the awesome devs fix this prob

I have a Netgear WNR3500L v1
Firmware: V1.2.2.48_35.0.55NA

I think the issue was more likely resolved by the full reset of my modem and router via the reset pinholes (hold for 30+ seconds), not the port opening. I believe this since I had my computer in the DMZ before hard.

I've closed the ports for now and will attempt to play again sometime soon (so we can verify if it is the ports that made the difference, or just the reset), I'll report back afterwards.

I just spent 2 hours switching my modem and router on and off. Eventually I reset them to factory default settings. To no avail. Didn't help.

Fixes tried:
- Opening all of the ports
- Resetting router to factory default
- That lasso program thing one of the devs here advised to prioritize the bf2pr.exe

ISP: Comcast

Fixes tried also:
  1. DMZ computer
  2. Add ports to Norton Firewall
  3. Complete remove and re-install of PB
  4. Restarted modem/router with pin.
  5. pb_sleep 500

Okay, so after removing the ports the issue re-appeared. Then, adding back the three ports specified in my earlier post restored my ability to play.

So my issue was two-fold: The router needed a complete factory reset via pinhole, after which I needed to forward the three ports specified earlier. I think the issue actually boils down to only one or two of the three ports, but I'd rather play than continue troubleshooting at this point.

Sorry sam, I guess the root of my issue is different from yours. Good luck.

Which ports did you forward exactly?

KertusRay wrote:It appears my issue may have been resolved, I just survived three full rounds on Hardcore without being disconnected.

This morning I performed a complete reset all of my networking devices. By complete, I mean holding both the pinhole reset buttons on my router and modem for several seconds.
After re configuring my router and opening 16567UDP, 4712TCP/UDP, and 27901UDP I was able to play the aforementioned three rounds (over three hours) without issue.
Enjoy your play Kertus. I'm going to give this a shot and see how it goes.
