Lol fun round. I can't even enjoy a round with without dc
But I am patient for updates. I will download anything

But newbies need to try coop first. It will somewhat not traumatize them.

I know that I have been experiencing some of the same issues as you, give it a week or two and I assume most of the problems will be solved (hopefully) *knocks on wood* - It seems like a while ago, but 1.0 has been out only 5 days. It's going to have its problem (especially with an update of this size, I think the previous updates was 3-4 GB in size?), so 2GB more is pretty significant. I would guess the dev team is probably working to fix it as fast as possible.
Ok, I changed settings to max low and now its fine [but on 0.98 I've played with max [without antyaliasing] and was fine too. So I'm waiting for proper update ;) .

Ahh prev PR has 5.6 GB, 1.0 has 6GB ;) .

*Note: 100p servers are fun with experienced players, sq:leaders and an involved commander.
Introduced one of my friends on a 100p server without explaining for half an hour first. Just let him deploy, let him take rifleman kit and showed him some thing he could do whilst playing on a 100 player, full 8 man squad. He picked it up really fast. Kind of depends on the players I guess, but it is certainly possible!

I'm never going back to the special forces gameplay of 64 players. I absolutely love the 100 players ^_^

I've been having a ton of fun with the game when the game works as intended, the constant crashing is unfortunate but understandable.

It will get sorted out eventually, the patching service makes everything very smooth and it's nice to have easy access to the changelog as well.

Y'all are acting like 100p is the new thing, it's just 100p and if half of them can't play it's just stupid.

Could any server admin consider having 64 player servers? Or am I alone in this thought? I'm not hating on 100p, I'm just annoyed over the large amount of players doing stupid stuff.

let nature take it's course. their names become synonymous with asshat. they aren't welcome in squads. they aren't welcome in servers. they're generally ignored, and taper off. give it time to rot, take your friends on solo expeditions and introduce them to the mechanics before pushing them into the blob guns blazing. i've seen some amazing matches since 1.0, and you're just cutting yourself out of the experience if you spend the round flustered over some random idiot(s). the world is full of people i hate, and there's 7 billion out there. can't ignore them all the time can we?

If you guys had the patience to wait so many months for this release, I am pretty sure you can wait a few more days for things to stabilize.

We need a thread where only new players post about their impression of the mod. I'd be interested in reading that.

I wouldn't...The community is not what it once was. Most players who know what they are doing have locked squads and every single newbie is lumped into one blind leading the blind squad together.

The impression would be "my god everyone is a noob wheres all the teamwork I was promised?"Because they never got to play with any SL who knew there shit..

Go by a different name and don't use your mic then you will see how newbies are treated.

If you had simply sucked up your strong hatred against mics Trooper, instead of wasting years moaning about how people "discriminate" you for actually being less effective, by now you'd be part of every single community/clan/closed mates squad there is in PR. I'm not talking of your abilities as player and human but look at it from a different point of view:

If you take someone on a pair with you, same skills, same play style, etc, just with the little difference that the other guy has a mic, this means he simply is a more valuable member to the squad.

Cynic, nay sayer there are many names for it ;)

Hate mics? I don't hate mics its just never convenient to use one in the tiny place I live with a wife and small child.

I can just relate to plight of the various newbies that come here to complain as I'm mistaken for one 99% of the time. Were as some of you may have forgot what it was like or joined earlier in PR before the elitist bullshit came along..

Sorry for quoting this guy without permission
Secondly, are you sure it's a good idea to admit that I'm new? I did for one game and was immediately kicked from the squad and then was left to a squad leader that didn't talk or communicate at all. A little offputting, but I'm a pretty optimistic fellow and understand that a few bad apples shouldn't spoil the bunch, but I want to keep learning, but it's difficult keeping up with folks.
I rest my case.

I don't think that PR is that elitist. Yes there are some clans and they would like tot play with their own buddies most of the time but does that really make them elitist?

I really think that microphones are an integral part of Project Reality. Before i started PR i read a lot about it. In 2006 i went to buy my first good gaming headset just for this.

I knew if this was a game about teamplay and microphones are needed for communication i needed to have it. That should be your thoughts about the situation.

You can have a wife and a daughter yet you can still talk on your microphone. Whats the hold up? You can tell them that you will game and you can communicate with your squad and your team.

Mics are needed for PR that's really it.

PR is impossible to play without a mic. When a newb joins my squad without a mic, I nicely tell him to go buy one otherwise he will not be able to play the game at all. There is no way I am ever going to play with someone who does not own a mic. I cannot even remember the times before mumble anymore. Don't get how I was even able to play it back then.

//btw kitty there is something wrong with your caps, lol.

It is. Very much so.

That's part of what draws people here as much as it drives others away.
Players might be hardcoded, but that sure doesn't seem to stop anybody from trying.

The only winning move is not to play. Insurgency, that is.

Everyone's become so cynical since I last played. People really need to just lighten up a bit.

By being so bloody negative about everything, you're most likely going to scare a large amount of the new players away

Archosaurus wrote:Mumble is down, APC's and IFV's are going crazy on the servers, CAS is doing whatever it feels like doing, servers run very, very bad and there's constant rubberbanding.

I blame the 100 player servers  .

But really, all of this happened after 100p servers were standard. I actually suggest going back to 64 for anything but 4km2 maps. I feel like the servers can't handle it, and mumble is getting overloaded or something so to speak.

Anyway, to the topic: Do you think a new player who joins today will ever play PR again?
I really Want a server called "HIGH FPS 20v20 INS/SKR/<2km"
