Low FPS with good rig\FPS drop- PR 1.0

Post by GlaDi »

Hi,
I've got EVGA GTX680. I7 and 16 gigs of RAM (go to my profile) and I'm running PR1.0 on 20-60 FPS. On older PR version i had 100 FPS all the time. HELP

I'm having the same problem with my laptop. It is a CoreI7 with 6 gigs of ram and should be plently good enough to run 1.0 on high like I used to with .98 with no lag. Now, every time I'm in a game with a bunch of people I get unplayable lag. Coop is fine, 15 - 20 players is fine, anything over that is terrible.

Having the same problem, ran earlier versions of PR fine but with 1.0 I'm having heavy FPS drops in busy maps like Muttrah and Dragon Fly. I read somewhere it's a known issue and there's going to be hotfixes, any chance of finding out when that could be?

I'm having the same issue. It's particularly a problem on highly-populated servers, especially when looking in the direction of large groups of players (can't be entirely sure about this, but that's what it seems like).

Lowering graphics settings helps a little bit, but not enough to really fix anything.

I have pretty much the exact same settings and hardware as this. It might have been a coincidence but it seemed to start happening after the patch that was released (I had one game on Asad Khal that worked perfectly before I updated).

When you are launching mumble manualy, this will happen. You have to restart PR. but still FPS too low...

GlaDi, HIYY, can you both post your system information like YamSoldier did.
GlaDi, HIYY, IMHO it might be your NVidia drivers, the newer drivers from .4 forward have been buggy as heck, I have a GTX670 and have similar problems. Please post your driver versions.

320.18 through 314.22 are buggy as heck. Try the NVIDIA GeForce v320.49 WHQL drivers

I had 314.22 and CTDed from planetside2 within minutes constantly.

Got some massive FPS drops too. Especially on Opertion Marlin. If I look downwards to the citycentre, my FPS nearly gone to 10.
Its like a stop/motion movie.

Never had any FPS drops on 0.98, etc.

Just wanted to say, as LITOralis advised me in another thread, I did a few things that can help with FPS.

- Dropping my resolution from 1366x768 to something lower.
- Installing the Razer Gamebooster: Razer Game Booster and starting the game through that.
- Lowering settings.

Finally when you have PR running, Alt-Tab and open the Task Manager. Right click "PR Launcher" and scroll to 'Set Affinity...". Assign one of your cores (In my case Core 0).

Right click PRBF2 and 'Set Affinity..' now assign the rest of your cores (in my case Core 1, 2 and 3).

Not sure exactly which of these things works the best but I did all 4 steps and now it runs perfectly. Just bearing in mind, setting the affinity has to be done each time you load the game but there is probably a program that can automatically do it.

I'm having a lot of frame rate inconsistency in this mod. It doesn't seem graphically demanding yet I'm running with shadows, lights, and textures on medium with everything else high at 1024 x 768 res.

Yeah, I've got a 540M with i5-2310M and I'm having issues running PR at good framerates. Shit, in some case it even drops below 30. Though I'm running mid-high settings. I'm pretty sure that my settings are using the discrete video card. Any other tips? I've got the latest GPU drivers.

There are no tips, no hope, everything is lost... JOIN US JOIN US JOIN US JOIN US JOIN US JOIN US JOIN US JOIN US JOIN US JOIN US JOIN US JOIN US JOIN US JOIN US JOIN US JOIN US JOIN US JOIN US JOIN US JOIN US. But in all seriousness, I'm still running with dem low frames as well, the Major Performance Issues thread (https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f26-pr ... ssues.html) hasn't got any closer to solving the issues. (imo)
Anyway, hope it gets fixed!
