Server Rental questions

Hey guys im considering getting a server so if anyone can help on where i can get one and how ect.. i just need steps for point a to b thanks.

ALSO I NEED A RECOMMENDED Processor for the server i don't want to overpay but i wanna make sure users on my server don't experience lag i will be running a 100 player server.

It really depends on what your budget is.

The main consideration is the bandwidth required 1tb/month I think is the going rate.

Need to find either colo hosting (you buy and manage the server) or dedicated server hosting plan to fit around that.

No offense, but even if you had a server, it likely wouldn't be played on- there's like a 100 non used servers for PR already.

warthhog thanks for your opinion im not offended at all because you probably right but here's the thing i looking for help not somebody telling me don't waste your money and two DO YOU REALLY THINK ANY SERVERS LIKE HOG CIA AND ECT GREW OVERNIGHT they all were nobody's at some point.

My server will be different if i get it running there we always be map voting and it will be a ins server only with a 1-2 out of the week aas play not saying that's going t make my server full but its a attempt AND MOST IMPORTANTLY not to bash cia in the face but ive been playing on there server for 2 years and i already got temp banned twice becuase false statements which they admitted they screwed up the problem isnt on cia that there admins or to young or immature or ect the problem is and most admins and this isn't just cia they dont let the full story be told the just jump on the case and immediately ban them depending on the case.

If you don't have ~30-40 people on call to seed the server, don't waste your money.

you need at least a clan to back you up or you will just be staring at an empty server 24/7. You also need a large amount of admins, so that there is always at-least a few online. If you don't have that your just putting your money into a sink hole.

You could however try to go for a 64p server if you really want to give it a go since there are some stragglers out there that can't join the popular 100p servers because they get frame rate drops like crazy. It should also be a lot cheaper .

I'm with everyone else. It would be awesome to have your own server, but it won't get populated. Don't waste your money. Donate a few bucks to Project Reality instead. You need a clan with alot of members and admins to get it populated.

NwA has a 100 player INS only server running right now, it has yet to be populated as we havent enough members or friends that want to play INS all day that will seed it. 70+ clan members and 1000's of visitors to our web site not to mention all the players that look at the ingame server browser choose not to play on it.

I'm not suggesting dont waste your time, I'm just telling you how it is.

The best way i would suggest is to join a clan or community who have the option to run a second server and work your way to admin and admin a server for them. This would give you a better chance.
