Guys, mind you that a commander is fairly essential for AAS due to the nature of the gamemode and SL1 should never take the say over his word, but in Insurgency, I have found that SL1 is far more superior than the CO in coordination, because the CO has no way of seeing into buildings etc. and cannot hear anything that's going on around the ground troops.

CO's should only organize CAS, report positions and objectives (FOB's etc) and encourage SL's to move IMO.

Obviously a commander is good, because the Insurgents usually start in an area with heavy defilade, but the coalition start in the open, so the commander can spot movements well.

But in the city, SL's rule.

I can identify generally 3 types of squad-leaders quite quickly when I'm commanding.
  1. The one that accepts your orders blindly and would walk through the valley of death if I ordered him. Unfortunately this type of SL is normally new to PR, or he just has no clue what he is doing and incorporates the commanders orders as his own.
  2. The one that accesses the order before accepting it. If he won't be able to fullfill the order within a resonable amount of time or the chances of survival is minimal he will deny it, or if he thinks he has a better plan that he discussed with another SL ready he would reply with that.
  3. The one that will deny any defend order unless if it means easy kills. He would infact deny any order that involves any movement, unless you give him a x-amount of kills to look forward to.

Although Nr 1 is easy to work with I prefer nr 2 where you get some constructive feedback. Nr 3 is what makes you lose a lot of matches because the entire team has to work around that squad..... annoying to say the least.

So when you have identifyed what type of squad each one is you can start to get things done more consistently
