Of course he switched to OPFOR on a infantry map without CAS, so he can be on the BLUFOR team after the infantry round is over and the next map is an air map.

I'm judging him on the character he used to be (is), because I've seen him do this very same thing so many times, on so many communities. Hell, He's been banned from the Finnish PR community server what, 3? 4? times now. Every time he makes a ban appeal and says "He's sorry and won't do this again". The first time he was unbanned, but he just kept doing the same sh*t, once he was permabanned he just bought new CD keys. He even pretends to be someone completely else, the guy acts like a sociopath.

Often when I join a server with viirus, you and whoever else of your friends on my team and see someone creating a CAS squad earlier than you guys, your main goal for the whole round will be dissing him for being low and reporting him for asset waste as soon as he gets shot down, wanting him to get kicked.

You started with 12. There is NO way you can be mature enough at that age to be able to play the game how it is supposed to be. The majority of the discussion on this thread seems to focus on everything but the ghosting. Perhaps this is an example of the unequivocal harm and nuisance this character has been to the PR community; the fact that we seem to forget the most contemptuous trespass of the gamer code - cheating.

Perhaps without this ghosting incident this thread might have been a lot more sincere, believable and accepted within our community. Maybe if this was the case we might have offered him the umpteenth chance to make amends. However, cardinal rule number one has been broken here: cheating.

A player who uses cheats is no ordinary player, and in the PR community the disparity between cheaters and non-cheaters is much greater than for any other gaming community. Allow me to explain:

Firstly, I like to consider the PR player and community something more than any regular gaming community. For two reasons: The game itself is a lot more demanding in terms of communication, ethical play and teamwork; secondly, the community is a lot more closely knit. As Wicca said a few pages earlier in this debacle we have such a beautiful community. We know people and we enjoy playing with some people just as much as we enjoy going to the pub with friends on a Friday night (maybe this is just me and shows that my social life is lacking - but I like to think not). I am in no way saying you must be the most likable person in the world, but the sense of community and type of play you offer is something more than can be found in any other gaming community.

Secondly, and of much more importance, is the mentality of a person who uses cheats. This is concomitant to my previous point as a cheater is obviously a person who does not fit in with the rest of the community. The mentality of a cheater automatically sets themselves apart from a community as they knowingly break the norm and twist the game to personal gain. This is something very important to recognize. Project Reality requires us all to work with one another, communicate and endeavour to win through team play. When I squad lead, which I do very often, I try to consider the needs of the team and make them mine. The cheater only considers his own objectives - ego and glory through garnering admiration (which is very different to respect). Moreover, what would make a player want to take advantage of others by cheating (ghosting is also comparable to wall hacking in my opinion, I will explain later) and to not do it again?! Virus ghosted once, this is tantamount to cheating an infinity of times. His mentality took him to cheating in the first place, that egotistic goal was all he saw.

Now, I know there are people in this community who do not consider ghosting cheating in the sense of wall hacking or downloading other programs. Especially so because Virus stumbled across a live stream and did not ghost in the 'conventional' sense of knowingly communicate with another person who had access to the other team's information and knowingly pass it on for uncouth purposes. However, it needs to be explained that ghosting in any sense is cheating like using wall hacking. What do wall hacks do? They provide you with intelligence, which should not otherwise be known, to show enemy positions. The end result of ghosting and using wall hacking is the same, so why should they be considered to be different degrees of cheating? Also, linking back to my point about mentality, because of this what means Virus wouldn't be open to using wall hacks or ghosting in the 'conventional' sense? We already have evidence of cheating, why are we still discussing griefing? This is far less significant than cheating.

Virus has abused our community many times before and has now ghosted. His greatest perpetration is unforgivable. Some consider Virus a reformed character since he joined CIA. I perceive him as a more cunning and devious one. Let us not forget, he committed his ultimate sin whilst in CIA. If this so called reformed character has cheated, I hate to think what he has done in the past, and what he might still be doing now.

Repeated offences (scores of nicknames and multiple bans), inability to feel empathy or regret, self-centered and egotistical if not outright narcissistic, surrounded by co-dependents ("CAS whore" squad obsession and followers ... cult-like setup).

It's interesting that he has a brother who gets into the same type of trouble. It may be part of his family culture and/or genetic. Either way, a further indication of serious, unchangeable personality disorder.

Regarding the claim that he has been trying to change this past year, and the appeal that we should not judge him for the way "he used to be": ... well, everyone knows the fable of the boy who cried "wolf" too often. Eventually people stop believing you if you repeatedly abuse their trust, it's a natural reaction. If it's in your nature to be a deceitful, conniving, vicious, egocentric little fool, that's too bad for you Social selection will sort you out, and probably you won't have children either.

TL;DR He is most likely a fully-fledged sociopath. The best thing to do is to ban him from all PR servers, and forget him. His kind hates that.

Virus, if you honestly regret and want to change your playing style, we welcome that.

Some points were brought up here that you should keep in mind, however.
You are not allowed to circumvent bans. That is, if you honestly regret, you should return to one of your banned CD keys.

Noddy made a very good point in that actions would speak much more clearly for you. Just... be better. Show improvement, and then people will accept this. And even unban you.
