I'm afraid I can picture this resulting in almost the same result as the in between game loading screens get if chat isn't muted - chaos.Tolstoievski wrote:How about a BRIEFING ROOM? It would be like a tent or something ( kinda like the commander's tent where he can enter and sit down kinda like a vehicle ). So after everybody spawned and picked up their equipment, the commander would call all squad leaders to enter the briefing room to have a quick briefing. When you come close to the tent and press "E" ( enter vehicle ) you sit on one of the chairs inside the tent and watch the commander's presentation. It would look like this:
Local abuse amidst 50 people in such a confined space would be chaos. It'd be an open invite for one troll to throw a grenade. Additionally You'd have to make sure both teams are on a level playing field, spawn time for assets (including light transport vehicles and logistics) might need limiting to a few minutes after round start in order to ensure both teams leave base at similar times. Those first 3-5 minutes of a game can be absolutely crucial to who has the overall initiative and control of a map. This brings up another problem really, that PR needs to take a look at balancing the game such that one team doesn't have such a huge advantage over the other if they happen to be only slightly faster than them in those early minutes. On some maps those first 5 to 10 minutes can decide a whole round.
