Origin version of BF 2

Post by Shiney »

I have Battlefield 2 v1.5 installed through Origin. It is saying is unable to find that version when I enter the password to install Project Reality. Would anyone be able to help me find a resolution for this? I am a long time player of another mod called AIX. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Yeah, uninstall Origin and get steam. Better yet: Just get a retail copy of BF2 that doesn't require anything else.

Than answer doesn't help anyone. Hopefully someone will give you hand with this, to my understanding Origin should work, but I don't use it so I am not sure what the problem is. All advice I can give is to reinstall the BF2.

Also could check your registry.
Go to start and write "regedit" to the search bar and hit Enter
Go to
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Electronic Arts\EA Games\Battlefield 2]
In there should be the following string values:
"Language" ="English"
"Locale" ="en_US"
"InstallDir" ="G:\\Games\\Battlefield 2"
"Version" ="1.5"

If any are missing right-click empty area -> New String Value.
Add to the Value name a text from left, remove the " ".
And to value data the text from the right, remove =" ".

If you are 100% positive you run BF 1.5 you can just ignore that message and continue with the PR installation.

Raic, Sorry for taking so long to get back, but the regedit information was exactly what I needed to get my game up and running. Had to change the version from 1.4 to 1.5. even though the release notes said I was playing 1.5 version. Once I made that change, it was ready to go. Thank you for your willingness to help me. Sure appreciated it.
