I vote to give medics scopes but take away a little bit of their ammo to discourage lonewolfing.

Unless you're held up in a building you rarely use all 8 mags, medic or not, so I don't see how giving them a more limited amount of ammunition is going to prevent lonewolfing. I also think this would oppose the "reality" in PR.

only 4 mags would discourage lone wolfing if it was an issue.

No why would that discourage lone wolfing? When you lone wolf, you can resupply off dead enemies. I do it all the time. Lone wolfers are always going to occur, giving zoom optics to the medic wouldn't bring upon more lone-wolfs stealing the medic kit and abandoning the squad.

Yeah only when reflected in real-life.

Oh Cmon guys, on MEC the medic already has only 6 Mags and lonewolfers will lonewolf, no matter what. Most of them use fancy stuff like a marksman (who also got nades btw) and the most squads dont like it when their medic lonewolf....
The medic has not enough ammo most of the time, because you need all your field dressings to heal yourself up (got shot two times and all your field dressigns are gone and youre maybe still bleeding), so why take him the ammo?

I mean....hey when people join the squad, they want to play everything lmg, marksman, HAT, "hey maybe a sniper could useful too" ...almost no one says "yeah medic i want to play it" so i really dont know why you guys think hes that OP or would it be with scopes.

In 098 with Binos and no scopse everything was fine for me. All Scoped kits had a disadvantage in CQB, but with BUIS this changes for many weapons. But i dont think he really needs scopes, i just want something to to zoom in sometimes because immersion is really bad without scopes and binos and you need to know where the enemies are, when you want to smoke a body or revive someone.

Medic will never be a lonewolfing kit, as long as the associated SL is actually trying to make any effort towards leading a unit.

binos and you need to know where the enemies are, when you want to smoke a body or revive someone.
:D
if you want to know where your enemy before revive ask the guy who got shot or just smoke his body, or ask your squad members to smoke entire area if you are not sure, becouse trying to find the enemy with scope/binos as a medic is foolishness in such situation, you just gonna get shot/injured nothing good will come out of this.
The only reason why I voted "yes" is becouse they have optics for medics in some armies IRL.

Often the guy whos got shot dont have a clue, and getting shot or not as medic is very specific..i managed it the last 4 years to get not shot most of the time, but i dont wanna discuss this again. For me its not about having a scope or not, its about having better visuals cause the unscoped visual has nothing to do with rl, this topic and nayos thread share the same problem.

Someone should definitely sharpen their situational awareness.

Totally agree with you here. I voted no on this poll here, but also voted "Binos should be accessible to more kits" in the feedback section. I really think giving simple binoculars to the medic and giving him a rifle with irons (std) and red dot (alt - maybe switch these though) would be the best solution gameplay wise - it's proven to fit into the role of the medic.

If we have scopes, that means realistic loadouts so no aimpoint for Usmc and no irons for us army with then being replaced for acids instead like real life

ANDROMEDA wrote:I once played on Archer like Canadian medic and helped my friend, who played like Marksman. As a result, I have killed more enemies than he. I was too mach distracted by firefights, and because that the enemies approached us very closely, I could not cover up our position in CQB and we both die.

In the game the medic have a lot tasks, and he should focus on their implementation. And the weapon he has to defend itself, and ironsight him enough for that.
then thats not a problem of having a scope, thats a problem with the player not understanding what his role in the squad is.

there are times when every rifle counts while healing and reviving is of low priority. at those times having a medic that can effectively engage targets at range really helps. there are rounds where i play medic and get more kills than the AR while still maintaining my squads health and wellbeing. it's not about what the kit allows the player to do, it's about the player's ability to remember his true role.

At least can us medics or whatever non-scope having class players have a pair of binoculars!?

Giving optics to the medic will only make them NOT want to be the medic ... they will try shooting people, in turn having them shoot back and kill the medic. my vote Keep it the way it is

And then it is there fault, if people do that then they should not be medic, and if you play with a mic then the sl can tell hin bkt to shoot at long range targets etc

This last argument doesn't really make sense, because it'd be the same on short-range maps where they don't need scopes to go and try to kill everyone. A good medic knows his job!

No, medics should not be 1337 360 no scope killing people with ACOGs, they should be reviving, healing and defending themselves when they got close threats.

My vote is no.
