BF2 Available for $5.99 on Origin

Post by smgunsftw »

Origin is having a $6 sale, most games have had a 50% or higher reduction in price. BF2:The Complete Collection is just one of them.

Make sure to spread the word and help get more people playing PR.

Origin is fine for BF2 though, it's basically just a downloader for the game. Once BF2 is installed you can completely get rid of Origin and the game works fine.

After the Humble Origin Bundle, I remember not being able to launch Dead Space 3 for 2 days because Origin's servers were busy.

I never had an issue with Origin (after they fixed the clients stupid EULA, I considered Origin a very, very minor inconvenience) but now I'm wary of the software.

I cant be the only one that prefer having games on CD :)

- I've got 2 copies of BF2 laying around one from when BF2 was first released and another copy (Complete package) the 2nd one costs about the same and then you never have to relie on a download server to install the game :)

I havent got a single CD in my whole house. I have a txt file with all my CD keys inside. Whenever I need a game, I grab my downloaded cracked games and use my key with them. Same with BF2. I got original Key but am always using the Reloaded-Release to install the game.

I am no fan of CDs. Too slow and takes up too much space.

Open Origin>Games Library>Right-click on BF2>Select Show Game Details>Find your CD Key

You can then copy and paste the CD over to your PR 1.0 launcher on the support>keys tab.

So Origin is safe to use now!? I was all freaked out about them collecting your private info. I just can't find an article talking about it today, only trash talk about it last year.

I really wanna try BF3 and Dead Space 3 from the Bundle... But Origin ;_;

cameratoss, i also got the bundle, and.. I don't know.

I do know you can install BF2 through Origin once, then uninstall Origin.

I don't know about newer games included in the Humble BUndle and am looking for same answers as you.

Here I found this when I was looking up DS3

Reclaim Your Game - RYG Evaluates Dead Space 3 and EA Origin

That site is actually really informative :)

Edit: This would be the last evaluation this site makes on EA Origin:

http://www.reclaimyourgame.com/content. ... -EA-Origin

Seems like it's a real pain to uninstall Origin when you're done with it.

So wait... If I buy the CD version, I can totally avoid Origin? I just deal with nasty old Secure-ROM? Shoot, I would just rather buy the disc version if I can play without Origin...

If I can't get past Origin, I'll simply forget the game exists. We have PR, so it's no big deal, I haven't played any other game since I discovered PR.

No need to deal with any secure-rom, patch 1.5 removes any cd checks. Just download bf2, intall and patch and you're good to go :)
