Mk.19 Rover Gun Platform
I really like the new Mk.19 Rover acting as a good gun platform. It is a great offensive and defensive tool that you can use as firesupport. The exposed gunner makes it not OP.
There is one thing though that bothers me, it's the way you aim. Now you need to guess the distance and the arc, what I was thinking of (Suggestion warning) was implementing a system like on the 40mm grenade launcher where you could simply change the sights to the matching distance (50mtrs, 100 mtrs, 150mtrs). This so you could aim better.

Thanks for the feedback, but unfortunately it's not possible with our current knowledge to implement such a system with stationary or mounted weapons.

Re: Mk.19 Rover Gun Platform
Then what about giving it an alternative camera where the markings actually fit the drop?

Would it be possible to make the grenade explosion more visible at long ranges?

there's problems in doing that, what you need for long range fire is a spotter using binocstankninja1 wrote:Would it be possible to make the grenade explosion more visible at long ranges?

Re: Mk.19 Rover Gun Platform
Looks like somebody beat me to making the thread. It's hard to use when the viewpoint is straight down the sight to shoot a parabolic grenade. You kind of have to fire then pull the gun down to see where the splash is. It throws your aim all off when you go to adjust on your subsequent rounds.
Even if the view could just be up higher looking over the weapon instead of straight down the sight it would be a lot more user friendly.

It seems the sights are lined up for 150. I wouldn't mind seeing it zeroed for something more like 400-600 meters, then you can just lower the mk 19 for closer targets and still be able to see them.

The Mk19 up armoured humvee is a monster, I adore the thing. Haven't got to try the Mk19 stryker yet, sadly.

I've tried the stryker and trust me, it's like a handicapped AAVP. It's pretty much like using the harrier like a helicopter and dropping bombs from VTOL flight - slow, easy to kill, in-accurate and loud.

Re: Mk.19 Rover Gun Platform
Mk19 Hmv is really powerful, it's like a stealthy APC/IFV with infantry being a lot more dedicated to protecting it (as it is their transport vehicle at the same time as an insanely OP weapon platform). I feel the Mk19 HMV being uparmored is overkill, the Opfor factions that are up against this vehicle usually lack the tools needed to deal with it. Make the gunner more exposed, or preferably just throw it onto a standard HMV to make it a little less OP.

You want it to be gimped because people are protecting their transport and fire support assets exactly the way they should be?Murphy wrote:Mk19 Hmv is really powerful, it's like a stealthy APC/IFV with infantry being a lot more dedicated to protecting it (as it is their transport vehicle at the same time as an insanely OP weapon platform). It has 48 ready rounds tops, unrealistic deviation like a Parkinson's victim is holding it up on his shoulders and an exposed gunner. What tools do you need other than a LAW and rifles or machine-guns at a higher angle to deal with it?

Hopefully. But it still doesn't justify whining about a vehicle with an exposed gunner and 48 rounds, unless you guys did 32.[R-DEV]Rhino wrote:iirc Rivers has fixed that now?

except the stryker has better armour, is faster, and has better gun depression than the AAVPStemplus wrote:I've tried the stryker and trust me, it's like a handicapped AAVP. As you have like 1 for AP, 2 for HEAT, etc in heavy armoured vehicles could you do the same for the 40mm on the smaller things? Set one through five as slightly different camera angles for different ranges? Or is the engine too restrictive in allowing such a thing?

Guys, remember to talk about the Rover Mk.19 here and not about the Humvee Mk.19 .
