I wanna get a PC that can run good ol' Far Cry 3 and of course PR. And ARMA III or Arma 2!

I wouldn't recommend a pre-built case, you can easily put a decent one together with 850 bucks.

You will likely be able to get away with an i5 (cheaper, in fact you will be able to get away with one), I'm just linking the i7 because it's what I have in my box.

I would recommend Corsair or Rosewill, 750/850 W should do the trick.

Planning to upgrade so I can play ARMA III on Medium.

I am looking for a Desktop. Unless I can find a decent Laptop that can run ARMA 2 on High for about $850.

I don't care for laptops, I just find them limited in a way. You can't 'upgrade' them everytime a new piece of hardware comes out. Well... you can I know. But it's tough.

Thats 870 euros which is a lot more than 850 dollars

For 850$ you can get a laptop that can run Arma2OA, but thats about it, as slide show. Arma is pretty badly optimized game...even people with very powerful machines have problems and low performance. The trick is not in the machine as much as its in the settings that fit to that particular PC.

Im sure Lito will brief you better on this than me, since hes American as you are, and he knows where you can get a good deal.

But, dont save on motherboard, and PSU if you say I plan to upgrade. Tossing lots of money on expensive cases is also a waste if you're short on cash. By dont save on PSU I dont mean like buy a 1MW uberpwn PSU with modular cables and shate...500-600W is going to be enough depending on your choices.

For best performance a combination of Intels new CPUs with Radeon graphics and SSD sounds about right, but if you look at the prices, well...its salty.

Maybe grab a cheaper i3 cpu for a start and later on upgrade.

I just bought a lenovo y410p(on sale and had to get a laptop quick for school and gaming within a week) and it runs Arma 2 benchmark 1 at 38avg fps.

Can be considered since it was at $800-900.

yes its cheaper, but if youre buying in us, it should be around 850$ too. since all of this is cheaper in US. also you could go with a haswell setup to get better reliability when OCing compared to ivy bridge

Essentially, yes. You have to look at the number though. It just represents the value/quality (judged on fps, etc)

It's just for comparing video cards. Let's say you have been suggested numerous video cards here on the forum, the best thing you can do is just compare them on the benchmark site. With this you can judge yourself if it's, for instance, worth it spending 50$ more on a certain card or not.

This site provides you essentially with a guide/role model for a good pc build. The parts which are listed are "recomended" (quality/price ratio is good). Of course you can choose a high-end card and PSU with a "superb" build.

There are tons of Youtube channels that provide you with all information , you should look into that! Techtomorrow got some sick builds for under 1000$ that'll play all modern games on high with good fps.

You should be able to on medium graphics. The main bottleneck for that build would be the graphics card.

If you do your shopping right, you may be able to find a steal on a 7870 GHz Edition. My roommate picked his up for under $200.

I've read reviews on people running Bioshock Infinite on nearly maxed out graphics with that card, but we all know A2 is a lot more harsh on the machine.

Go for the Dell..it is the best ever..sturdy, durable and high on performance..and for that kind of money you will get nice specifications as well.
