no 100m sighting for RPG-7?
I and likely many others are frustrated at the RPG-7 iron sights not having a 100 meter sighting option, im pretty sure for a weapon with a 300 meter effective range there should be an option for 100 meters. at closer range (the typical fighting range for the RPG-7) it always fires high above the targets. This is my only dislike about the RPG-7 in 1.0, apart from that it is quite good, but it really needs a 100meter option.

Should be accurate at less than 200m. Ive never had a problem. At those close distances there is minimal drop/raise.

Yeah i tend to aim on the tip of the sight but it always flies a few meters above that at under 200 meters, I just think this should be changed.tankninja1 wrote:There is minimal drop at less than 200m point and shoot. If anything aim a pixel or two low

everytime I use rpg-7 as insurgent I manage to shoot over the vehicle I shoot on. every singel time.
I accidently hit main once on basrah when I aimed on the turret of the tank and it flew over VCP and hit inside brittish main.. and I was around 100-150 meters away.

Wait you can set the distance for your sight? I really missed some parts of 1.0...

Settings the sight distance just frustrates me.
I use the minimal distance and just aim above the target like in 0.98

Thats my exact problem thats why i think there needs to be 100m sighting. Also to those who dont know press Q when u have your rocket launcher out and you can change the ranges.ExeTick wrote:everytime I use rpg-7 as insurgent I manage to shoot over the vehicle I shoot on. every singel time.

AT with ironsights are adjustable. AT with scopes have working reticles.

This is saying that the RPG-7's ironsights are effective between 200 and 500 metres, which means there probably isn't a 100 metre sighting option.
It also mentions that shrapnel from the warhead can fly out to 150 metres, which is probably why the ironsights only go down to 200m.

I still think we need 100 meter sights, IRL they would aim on the tip not randomly guess were it will hit at under 200 meters (over 200 meters is uncommon for RPG attacks in the game and real life)

Effective range is highly dependent on type of rockets you use. I currently have no idea which rockets are used but will assume its tandem warhead RPG7VR. Its the heaviest of all types and has the lowest range of up to 300m. If reticules were clearer you could see marking "Л", "В" "Р".
L or Л is used for PRG7VL rockets, V or В is used for standard 7V, and R or Р is used for 7VR.

We're talking about ironsights, not the scope.

Re: no 100m sighting for RPG-7?
I think they should make 200m adjust accurate from 50m to 200m.
It might not be realistic but it would 1. make using this weapon fun again and 2. balance insurgecy.

Re: no 100m sighting for RPG-7?
As we all know, the devs will sometimes sacrifice realism for gameplay (such as being able to arrest people with buckshot, but I won't get into that), so I don't see why they couldn't add a 100 meter mark for the RPG 7. Its mainly used in CQB, anyways. Any devs here to confirm or deny if they will do this?

If something is closer than 200m just aim below it!

OCD. But seriously it is only the iron sights RPG-7 that doesn't have 100m sights, the Russian scoped RPG-7's do have 100m sights when you switch BUIS to iron sights. So I'm guessing one of those two shouldn't be that way and is bugged.'[FSA wrote:IrRahman;1968330']If something is closer than 200m just aim below it!

Re: no 100m sighting for RPG-7?
I also don't see the problem here. The documentation says that these kind of RPGs don't have 100m sights. If that's accurate, that's how it should be in game. And if aiming below the target doesn't feel "natural", just practice on single player until you get the hang of it. Standing or being prone seems to make the RPGs wildly inaccurate but I've been able to hit stationary targets under 200 meters consistently while crouched after I got used to pointing the sights a little below the target.
Also, the devs said they're going to improve the deviation and bring back splash damage vs infantry in the next version so the RPG should be perfect. Can't wait to wreak havoc on enemy squads with it!
