Are range markings on ACOG accurate?
Do the markings that say 4 and 6 on the british ACOG reticule actually hit when you shoot at a target at 400m and 600m? Or does it vary with your resolution?

Like Camo said, no bullet drop up till 700 metres and even then its like a mm up on their body/head. The Bullet drop doesn't effect rifles as much as it does marksman or snipers. (least up to 700m +)

Nope. To hit the target at 500m with SMAW and ACOG you need to aim at the very bottom of your sightKerryburgerking wrote:I think it works for the SMAW atleast

There is no bullet drop at all for standard rifles (or any other gun which is not marksman or Sniper)._Fizzco_ wrote:Like Camo said, no bullet drop up till 700 metres and even then its like a mm up on their body/head. No, but as Doc said, some guy found a possible way to implement ballistics. We'll see if the devs decide to implement it :/Mikemonster wrote:I thought it was?!

Lolwut? Standard rifles do have bullet drop, and they have for quite a while now.
The ACOG markers are relatively accurate, with the exception being the SMAW.

Re: Are range markings on ACOG accurate?
How can vet players say there is no bullet drop. last I checked, and if memory inst completely done alreaady, assault rifles drop after about 400, but until then, its a straight flight. Maybe the settings have shuffled with the new deviation, but the bullet drop is there, has always been.
What isnt there is ballistics. That is possible aswell, SMAW uses it, SPG uses it... and so on. Problem is, tracers would fall down way earlier than bullets, so you can imagine, its either all tracers or all balls.
Down in the community modding, Mats has come to some ideas, which equalize tracers, but it pushes the bullet speed to the max, which i think is again, a downside.
Maybe in the future, everything will be figured out adn implemented, wouldnt surprise me.

Re: Are range markings on ACOG accurate?
I dont know about those who are saying there is no bullet drop on rifles but last time I used one my bullets landed short when I was aiming on a guy far away with my rifle, and I didnt aim above him just right on him.
there are several times I have had to aim above the enemy to hit him with a rifle. rifleman,AR,MG. I can say that there is bullet drop. Muttrah city was a good exampel for me, when I was shooting from Tshapes from north city on LRG layer. I had to aim above people that was between west and east city.

ofc there is bullet drop for every gun ingame. you only notice it at targets above 400m though. most ppl do not realize this because they only engage targets that far with sniper and marksman and think only they have a bullet drop. At 400m you will have to aim slightly above the head if you want to headshot someone.

Re: Are range markings on ACOG accurate?
Bullet drop should look like this, and it is possible on BF2 engine as you can see:
There is no realistic bullet drop in PR so far, I can shoot at 500m ranges with SVD on target and aiming directly on them.
Not above them like on the image below:

I even saw more complex BF2 ballistic mods on YouTube, like wind affecting bullet and ricochets.

That's BF2142 engine, not BF2. A lot of stuff is possible on the BF2142 that is not possible on the BF2 engine.'[FSA wrote:IrRahman;1947763']Bullet drop should look like this, and it is possible on BF2 engine as you can see:

Would it ever be possible to "port" PR to BF2142? Cause if so I would definitely buy it for PR.Megagoth1702 wrote:That's BF2142 engine, not BF2. A lot of stuff is possible on the BF2142 that is not possible on the BF2 engine.

Re: Are range markings on ACOG accurate?
PR on bf2142 wouldn't be allowed to use anything from bf2, only things from bf2142 and independtly made. That is why I'm pretty sure going to 2142 is near impossible,a lot of bf2 statics are still used that would need to be remade.
