You should rename the thread title to Binoculars removal Whining 1.1

On topic, no changes are needed. Insurgents dont have any binoculars, should people who refer to play on opfor start whining about it too? Live with it, and play your role, or wait..dont if its not 'fun' for you?

TBh you don't really need binocs or even scopes at most ranges.

Thanks a lot for your advice. If you knew your topic, you'd know that insurgents do have binos on almost all their kits

Unless your AA is off and your resolution and textures are as low as they go. Seriously without scopes or binocs on the lowest settings possible (minus view distance) it is impossible to see much beyond 200m. Yesterday I found out that .50cals and TOWs will not render (at about 200m) on said lowest settings without a scope/binos/magnification. Fortunately most kits have something.

Sure, a sapper with pistol, insurgent with shotgun, collaborator, insurgent with SMLE. Others with AK47s do not have them. But I was wrong havent played insurgency since 0.973, and I thought binocs were removed from them too.

So whats the problem? Blufor has ACOG and has armored vehicles with TWS. I think that's balanced pretty well.

They are not conventional forces, and we all know that in conv. forces not every soldier is issued with binoculars. Ones that have them is just the way it should be, and as a plus there is three kits which can laser mark targets.

All in all your argument is invalid.

The discussion shouldn't be bouncing back to what's realistic. You cannot implement realistic seeing in a video game. This is the reason why binoculars should be in the game, game-vision is not as good as vision IRL. Binoculars are the perfect way to implement that into the game. But even some type of eye-focus or zoom-tool in the game would be good. There's a lot of people that cannot play with max graphics and it just removes so much from your vision without binoculars.

Blufor has ACOG? specialist doesn't, medic doesn't, engineer doesn't. Let's say you're in a 4-man squad on Karbala or Archer for example with an officer, medic, engineer and specialist, what can you do if you're in the desert besides blindly trying to hit targets your SL is spotting?

In real life you actually have a good vision and it's not limited to some pixels. So yes, in real life you'd most likely be able to see someone with your eyes while on PR you would not know if it's a bush, a tree, a dead body, a guy or a rock.

Anyway, if you haven't played insurgency since 0.973 that shows a lot on the relevance of what you say.

Pft, you havent been complaining about insurgents not having them but medic ( blufor ) so your argument faild again.

I see no point in arguing with you, so I wont anymore. You say white I say black, let devs decide..

Lets put it this way, what would you have removed from those kits you mention so you could put binos back in? I wouldn't touch anything...

Massive, face it. Youre wrong. All video games need a way to let you see beyond a few pixels, and nearly every videogame does this with zoom. Even ARMA, which in my opinion is already way more realistic than PR could ever be, gives you a cyborg eye zoom for this exact reason. The binos were what allowed us to see beyond our computer monitor and see what we would actually be able to see. Wothout them every soldier is reduced to nearsightedness.

The devs may think that its fine but the fact of the matter is those are just more opinions in a sea of opinions. Unfortunately, it would appear that those opinions are the only ones that matter. :/

This thread keeps going in circles. Half of the (few) people that voted like the change, the other half would like a change to some degree. Whatever we do, there are always people that don't like it.

We've talked about this in the dev forums and we won't be changing anything anytime soon.
