Reinstalling the game can sometimes work, sure, though I tend to think it's probably not the answer here. I'd be more inclined to suspect a problem with the system causing it, like a hardware instability issue, or possibly software (including drivers). If the game is running OK, then just bombs out, and does so often compared to other folks running the same game without this degree of problem, then I'd probably start looking towards checking the system for overall stability by running things like an extended memory test, and CPU and GPU load testing applications. But there are many reasons for why things go wrong, so it could always be being caused by something else, including the game code itself. But at least if you follow these steps you can start to narrow down the potential causes by (hopefully) ruling out these areas.
An easy test could be to run on all "Low" graphics settings for a while to see if that makes a difference, or to change hardware audio rendering to software, disable EAX, and so on. We're looking to identify changes in stability after making modifications to the system.
Be sure to update your system drivers where possible. That includes things like motherboard drivers (which cover many things), cpu driver, video driver, sound driver, and so on.
Run without overclocks if you have them configured.
More advanced: Try another PSU on the machine if you have one and are capable of swapping it in.
