You misunderstood, we're not adding the zombies because they're popular... we're adding them because we do need that extra element of challenge that they add in the same way that Hunger Games had fires and other obstacles being added by the organization. We simply don't have any other idea for a good obstacle besides the zombies and that is mostly because they already proved to work on the DayZ Survival GameZ events/tournaments.[R-CON]Mineral wrote:That's not how I see it though. It's a distraction of the main thing, and if you are only doing it to get the players attention, then well... You get a even bigger no from meEither you focus on the zombies, or you don't implement them. That's my opinion at least. Looking at the vote I'm not the majority opinion

The zombies are not a distraction to the survival aspect of the game, they add to it. I would say that most of the thrill and fun comes from the player interaction and I do not think that that will be reduced because of the zombies. I will repeat myself and say that if you have any suggestion to replace the zombies as an extra opponent that preferably does not require a bigger number of actual players, then do suggest it.
From the experience we got from the 3rd SGE, the implementation of the zombies added an interesting extra mostly because at a distance and in low light settings, you are not always able to distinguish if it is a player or a zombie bot and so the thrill is constant. So basically that is what they add to the game, besides the challenge of having to adapt to new tactics in order to avoid getting over-run by them.
So basically the AI adds something extra to the game... they don't necessarily need to be zombies though, but it just makes sense specially since BF2 AI is brain-dead anyway.
