Re: Forgotten Honor: Eastern Turmoil a PR 1.0 Campaign
In the tournament Eastern Turmoil we gained many new players that are also completely new to PR. Here is a war story of one of them, imo this is what makes PR great and can happen on any day in any fight.
Here is the After Battle Report from Elias. He is in my squad. It is really a funny read and you can feel his excitement playing this tournament and awesome mod!

Personal Performance
I practised every day for several hours to prepare myself for the Pavlovsk battle. I went into teamspeak every day and played public matches with people from F|H and the trainingmatch on thursday. I also went to the SA trainingserver to 'walk' the field to check out the terrain and locations etc. I've been learning a lot during my first week of pr:bf2, and I feel that I'm making progress, slow but steady.
My biggest fear was (and still is) to make a stupid mistake and let everybody down. My biggest problem atm is to keep full battlefield awareness; where is the enemy, where am I and where is my squad and squadleader. When it is relatively quiet it's not a big problem, but when all hell is breaking loose around me it's much harder. Then there are many imputs I have to process in a short amount of time, a lot of communications and lot's of things to pay attention to. I'm sure I will get better, it's just a matter of practise and time.
Playing with F|H is one of the best things that happened to me in my gaming history, everybody is very friendly and helpfull, and I'm having a lot of fun!
Every mistake I make ingame I see as a learning moment and I think about them after every game to see how I could have done things differently. I listen to my squadleader and teammates very carefully and I take their directions and advise very seriously. Guys, thanks for helping me learn, it's is very much appreciated!
I felt nervous before the battle, but when it all started it soon went away. We ran to WB fort and then took positions outside, because it's easier to defend that way; Dutch told us. I brought the AA kit to Dutch, we swapped kits at WB. Soon after that the first landings started to happen at the beach. I think Zapata took postion on the beach near some fortifications and we all took position outside WB-fort, over watching the seaside. I didn't see the boats landing on the beach, but I heared that they landed further to the south. I saw a figure running south to north on the beach, but he was to far to shoot. So I didn't shoot, 'cause I learned earlier: 'if you cannot kill it, leave it alone'. Also I think Dutch also told us before or after they landed, can't remember, to hold fire and let them come closer first.
Then a lot of shooting started, so I shot back and went prone on the outside wall besides some cover. I tried to keep aware and keep my head down. Stay alive. Then suddenly a enemy walked around the corner and there I was, in a perfect ambush position. I opened fire and got some hits on him, but he didn't die, he retreated the same way back. Running after him didn't look like the smart thing to do, so I called out on teamspeak that an enemy was moving south to north on the outside of westwall. Somebody saw him and killed him and reported this back on teamspeak. Don't know who from our squad shot that guy, but at that moment it like you saved my life back there![]()
Then enemy footsoldiers somehow got inside the fort, so everybody opened up on them. I couldn't see enemies inside, but I saw a lot of smoke on the far Eastside. I asked for confirmation about
the enemy positions inside, but I don't remember getting an answer. So I checked my map real quick to make sure there where no friendly's at the smoke and then I opened fire
on that position. My squad went inside the fort and Dutch gave me the AA kit and told me to go to the back of the fort and to be ready to shoot down a heli. I ran to the back and took cover behind
a container.
Still a lot of shooting was going on around the fort and at that time, I think at that time the enemy APC's also started coming in. One APC rolled into the fort and stopped with his left side exposed to me, 20 mtrs from my position. I think to remember it was smoking. I didn't know if I could do damage with the AA-kit to the APC, so I asked on teamspeak and Dutch told me no. I tried to hide from it, but then I got shot by it's indirect fire, and I lay wounded. I reported my status and was told to respawn. We all respawned at the FOB and moved as a team to a location to the SE side of WB fort, trying to flank the enemy coming from the beach I guess. Suddenly I saw an enemy 100 mtrs in front of us, moving West to North east. I shouted on teamspeak 'contact front' and Dutch (moving on my rightside) and I opened fire on him. It was like an epic moment, for me, to be moving together as a team and making contact with the enemy. Of course Dutch shot the guy straight away, don't know if any of my bullets hit but I was shooting him anyway. After that I got shot and was wounded, probably by an enemy squad moving onto our left flank.
Don't recall exactly how everything went after that, I know I made the mistake to go to Dutch directly instead of the movemarker. And because I wanted to be fast and join up with everybody, I didn't think smart and used cover as I was told to. But lesson learned. After that I moved North from the FOB, using cover, and then West to the marker. I took the AA kit everytime because I was told to do so. At WB fort I joined up with some guys from the Preatorians and 3 of my squadmates. We took cover at the outside of the North wall en took shots at enemy's around us. Everything then seemed to happen at once, it was hard to keep battlefield awareness. Then a part of the wall was shot with a heavy caliber weapon, I think it crumbled. Don't know if that is possible, but that's how I remember. I saw a friendly going down in right front of me, he got shot
with machinegunfire, it was horrible. Blood everywhere and I couldn't do anything to help him. I wanted to call out a medic to go help him, but somehow I couldn't find the right words at that moment. Then I took fire from somewhere, I have no clue from where; I think North/Northwest. That's when I died again. I respawned and can't really remember how everything happened after that.
Then we suddenly won. That came as a great surprise to me, I didn't expect it to end so quickly.
Squad Performance
It's obvious to me that my squadmates know what they are doing, everybody did very good in my opinion.
Officer Performance
Dutch is very clear in his directions, how he wants things to happen. I think that is good. He also communicates very well, tells us what is happening around us. To me, that's very helpfull. So everything good there.
Army Performance
Don't know about the army as a whole, but I'm sure everybody did well. I've heared and read AAR's about other units, everybody did his tasks well. I've read that the supply unit did
an excelent job and I know about the Preatorians holding the WB fort 'cause I've met them there during the battle. I've know that they held the fort until the end, I've got the highest regards for that. And we've won in the end, allthough it felt that the victory came too soon; because of the ticked bleed. It seemed like we've just started the battle and the enemy didn't get a real chance to match their strenght with us.

This young one has potential
I believe we (old timers) should carry PR's ethos to newbies, and reading from that, that's what Dutch did..good on you.
p.s May i suggest dutch to give him some ear plugs and a blindfold for the next match, as he wont enjoy what he'll be hearing and seeing.

GG WP.
Nice work with armor on Ru side.

assetruler69: I've seen things you smurfs wouldn't believe. Apaches on the Kashan. I watched burned down tank hulls after the launch of the single TOW. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain.
Time to give up and respawn.

Re: Forgotten Honor: Eastern Turmoil a PR 1.0 Campaign
Another nice AAR from new player Elias.
Elias joined the Tournament in Forgotten Honor "Eastern Turmoil" and he was completely new to the PR mod, at this moment he is a trusted and full member of the Shock Troop Squad "Rep. Guards" I think his AAR'S are a nice read and it reflects how people experience the PR Tournament.

Personal Performance
City Apparments
We started out capping and defending the flag at City Appartments. It was a tense moment, being there 'behind enemy lines'. I took cover, with the rest of the squad, on the top floor. Then the first attack came. A soldier run into my room and I shot him, I put a full clip into him. He wounded me, but I took his bandage and bandaged myself.
After that more attacks followed. I got wounded, but luckely Phoenix got me up very quickly. I took postion next to the stairs. Then the Preatorians arrived and took position into the building next to us. Then more attacks followed. An enemy soldier came up the stairs and I shot him, other squadmates where shooting at him as well. Then soldiers entered from all directions and I was shot. I lay wounded on the floor, the last thing I heared was Phoenix shouting 'the last level is lost, the last level is lost'.
Back to Apparments
The whole squad respawned at Factory, and we made a run for City Appartments. We had some firefights during this run; one time we were fired upon from a building near City Appartments, Zapata and I shot and suppressed those guys. That was an epic moment. Also we encountered a whole squad in an alley, we took them out with handgrenades, that was epic too
In City Appartments we and the Preatorians were ready for an attack on the enemy positions there, Dutch called in a smoke barrage. At that moment we lost the flag at City Center. Dutch called in a full retreat to City Center and both squads moved there a.s.a.p.
City Center
We recapped City Center together with the Preatorians. Then I started to move down again, because the Rep. Guards were moving back to City Appartments. On my way down I encountered a enemy squad moving up the stairs, I got some shots on them but I was wounded and went down. Zapata went down to, somewhere else in the building. Because the Preatorians were involved in a firefight with the enemy squad in that building and they had some comm. problems with their medics we were not revived in time and were both dead-dead. I died a while after Zapata, so I had to respaw alone.
All Alone
I respawned and made my way to you guys. You were moving 500-600 mtrs before me, I could see it on the map. I checked every street before I moved. Then, suddenly, I saw an enemy soldier moving in the street. His position was south of you guys. I aimed and I shot. He went down. That was great! I waited for other movement and I reported it on teamspeak. I didn't see other movement, so I crossed the street. Then I saw smoke at the position where I shot that enemy soldier. Then I knew there were more enemy's there, and they wanted to revive their buddy. So I took my grenades and I trew 2 grenades into the smoke. I didn't know what else to do, so I made my way to my squad a.s.a.p., because I thought that would be my priority. I thought I shouldn't be fighting enemy alone at places where there are no assets or flags. I hope I made the right decision there.
Blowing up the fob
We made our way to the enemy fob and blew it up. That was just awesome. Dutch calling out "Nonpoint, blow this ***** up!" and then Boooom! We encountered an enemy squad there and I got some shots on them, trew some grenades too. Phoenix called out a possible enemy sniper at 015 degrees, then I got shot. Everybody died and respawned.
Victory
We made another go by flanking from the south in the direction of were we blew up the fob. Near the bridge, on the southside, we met enemy's and had a firefight. Then we suddenly won, and it was over.
Squad Performance
Good comms, good teamwork. Every match we play it feels more 'professional'. Maybe it's just me getting used to pr and bf2, been only playing for 4 weeks now. I hope you guys think that I'm making progress and that you all see that I'm serious and trying my very best to be good enough to be part of this squad.
Officer Performance
We were always fighting with a plan and a purpose. Dutch is, IMO, a very good squadleader. I'm learning a lot, and he's telling us when we did good but also wen when we did not good. I'm happy with that.
Army Performance
I felt that, again, we had a good combined arms operation going on. Also moral was high, and everybody had fun. I really enjoyed the army training on thursday where Vicious explaned what the plan was, what was going to happen, and what was expected of us. The plan didn't go as 'planned' after all, but I think all the preparations and trainings helped to 'pull' our army together; make us fight as one.
Medals/promotions
Dutch for leading the squad to victory, Helix for holding his position, all alone, in the buiding near City Appartments and killing a lot of enemy there. Zapata for being a 'killing machine" with his AR (made me feel very safe, 'cause Zapata was killing them all), Phoenix for being a good medic with humor and having good communications with the squad.
