Common things people don't know about PR
I run into quite a few people who don't know some of the mechanics of PR; even some long time veterans. Here's a list of the ones I run into most often:
1. Crates that are tied to a flag will resupply whoever owns the flag. The crate itself will not change teams visually and retain the symbol of the original flag's owner but will still resupply the current owner regardless.
2. Grenades blow up unarmored vehicles. They do the most damage when placed under the vehicle. It only takes between two and six grenades to blow one up.
3. Grenades blow up crates. It only takes one.
4. High caliber bullets go through the walls of destructible buildings. If you see people in the building, just systematically shoot through the walls until you've covered the room. I've had my HMMWV parked directly against the wall of one of these buildings and I just hosed the wall with a magazine and ended up with eight kills a minute later.
5. You can zoom with the TOW on the Bradley (I've had quite a few people tell me that you can't).
6. You can zoom with the HMG emplacements (press 1 then right-click).
7. A 7.62mm round does some damage against lightly armored APCs like the AAVP. If you're in a BTR, shoot it with both the co-axial and the main gun at the same time to kill it faster (or any other medium to light vehicle for that matter).
8. Each time you try to drop a kit after being denied resets the amount of time you have to wait (might want to fix this; why does the timer even exist?).
9. Tanks generally flank wide; especially on maps with choke points. Everyone builds TOWs aiming across the direct path bridge. Nobody builds TOWs aiming at the flank and that's generally where their entire armor column will come from.
Feel free to post some of yours.

10. Since 1.0 you can use common shovels to dig/disable grenade traps and IEDs in the field.
11. Placing a rally point next to an APC, FOB, or captured flag makes it a permanent (until overrun) rally

5a I would like to add that you can zoom when the weapon is ready to fire which is about 10 seconds after you switch to the atgm and it takes 2 min to reload the "clip"Solid Knight wrote:

5bThe Spandrel, Puma and Bradley all get a locked turret when using atgm and being on the move.
12 You can disarm C4 with a repair/wrench although the animation is a bit dodgy and might not display properly it will work when "using" it long enough on the ticking C4.
There was a thread not long ago containing a lot of tips and tricks btw https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f10-pr ... ks-pr.html

This sounds like a bug honestly. At least against the AAVP7.Solid Knight wrote: 7. A 7.62mm round does some damage against lightly armored APCs like the AAVP. For the MTLB this is true but the AAVP7 is able to withstand 50 cal i think? (or at least its supposed to)

12. Shooting the wooden bars under a crate with a shotgun destroys it in 2 or 3 hits
13. You can request kits at APC's

shooting with a shotgun at the metal should do the same job in 1.0NyteMyre wrote:12. Shooting the wooden bars under a crate with a shotgun destroys it in 2 or 3 hits

13. There is a difference between deployed and undeployed mode for DMR and AR kits... Difference is explained in the manual. If you don't know what its about, go read the manual. And don't join my squad until then.
Nothing raises my rpessure more than a guy going "Me, me, me, I'll be the AR, meeee!" then using deployed mode when patroling around.

14. The Insurgent Team has a Squad Leader kit. You can build hideouts mark targets and build deployable mortars and SPG7 AT pits. Try it. It's fun.

Great Thread. I've been playing this game since 0.7 and did actually not know this, thank youNyteMyre wrote:12. Shooting the wooden bars under a crate with a shotgun destroys it in 2 or 3 hits
15. Building wire with the wrench is ways faster than with the shovel.
16. Good civ-gameplay is quite rarely although explained in manual. Think there're a lots of guys out there who should take a look on it. (1min barrage after driving, spawning, kit-changing, reviving but nof after healing for example and so on)
Apropos, wasn't there a wiki or sth. giving and explaining advanced pr-knowledge? I remember one, but not completed and not updated to 1.0 if I remember correctly.
Me personally, I'm sorely missing something like this in which is given every fucking least random information like vehicle-hitboxes and spawen-times on every map and layout, differente gun damages against different vehicles, hp's and so on, just to get a look on the mathematical values behind the game

101. You can always flank the enemy and get to the capzone instead of fighting in the middle of nowhere and therefore losing the round.

Grenades can be 'charged' using right click. Just tapping RMB will drop it right at your feet, and holding it a couple seconds it'll be at full power. This also lets you use your character's left hand to do more precise aiming.

20. Right click also throws the rope with the back end first, dropping the hook at your feet. Use this to get DOWN from buildings. Surprising how many people do it wrong.

:d uh: I wish I had known that a while ago. Many times I have become stranded on a building due to this.[R-MOD]Spec wrote:20. Right click also throws the rope with the back end first, dropping the hook at your feet. Use this to get DOWN from buildings. Surprising how many people do it wrong.

This is actually the worst way to do it as the hook can often fall off the building entirely.[R-MOD]Spec wrote:20. Right click also throws the rope with the back end first, dropping the hook at your feet. Use this to get DOWN from buildings. Surprising how many people do it wrong.
The best way to do it is to stand about 3m back from the edge and throw it off full force. It deploys it faster and if you sprint and jump off as well you don't have to go from the top.

Thanks Gore! Also this.

On the other hand I saw thousands people "losing" their hook throwing it around all over the place...
