The best way to do it is to stand about 3m back from the edge and throw it off full force. It deploys it faster and if you sprint and jump off as well you don't have to go from the top.

If what dtacs is saying is that you should not CLICK right but HOLD right while standing way back from the edge, then he's right of course. I meant to say that it's not the left mouse button that's supposed to be used.
You can do the same thing as the guy in the video, except leaving the hook on the roof. Right click works just fine from a safe distance from the edge.

Solid Knight wrote:I run into quite a few people who don't know some of the mechanics of PR; even some long time veterans. Here's a list of the ones I run into most often:
1. Crates that are tied to a flag will resupply whoever owns the flag. The crate itself will not change teams visually and retain the symbol of the original flag's owner but will still resupply the current owner regardless.
Lol, yup. I found that out 5 weeks ago.
2. Grenades blow up unarmored vehicles. They do the most damage when placed under the vehicle. It only takes between two and six grenades to blow one up.
To Blow up a Humvee I THINK it takes like 6
3. Grenades blow up crates. It only takes one.
Yup... I think this should be in the manual.
4. High caliber bullets go through the walls of destructible buildings. If you see people in the building, just systematically shoot through the walls until you've covered the room. I've had my HMMWV parked directly against the wall of one of these buildings and I just hosed the wall with a magazine and ended up with eight kills a minute later.
Really? For some reason I didn't die from a .50 Cal from a Humvee on Ramiel, he unloaded at least 2 mags on me through the walls. Didn't die.
5. You can zoom with the TOW on the Bradley (I've had quite a few people tell me that you can't). Yup, very usefull.
6. You can zoom with the HMG emplacements (press 1 then right-click).
Not really "zoom". I would say ADS x2![]()
7. A 7.62mm round does some damage against lightly armored APCs like the AAVP. If you're in a BTR, shoot it with both the co-axial and the main gun at the same time to kill it faster (or any other medium to light vehicle for that matter).
Of course. If you are in love with AAV's, you will/have experience this first handed.
8. Each time you try to drop a kit after being denied resets the amount of time you have to wait (might want to fix this; why does the timer even exist?).
It does?
9. Tanks generally flank wide; especially on maps with choke points. Everyone builds TOWs aiming across the direct path bridge. Nobody builds TOWs aiming at the flank and that's generally where their entire armor column will come from.
Kashan.
Feel free to post some of yours.

24. You can play dead by dropping your kit, select unarmed, prone and then right-click. Be sure to be on your kit for the authentic look. The enemy would briefly think you are dead. Useful for avoiding enemy contact and singular enemies.
Not guaranteed to work 100% as enemies can still see your enemy tag and red when they aim your weapon. Good as a distraction while your team-mate takes the shot.
25. You can preserve the crates health by switching to a non-riflemen kit, and then requesting a kit as riflemen. This is important for mortars.
26. You can use ammo crates for people, including getting patches. Only the ammo crate dropped by allies will work (Not sure about that)
27. Holding Shift will give a temporary turbo on vehicles.
28. Grenades also blow up ammo crates
29. You can build a FOB inside some buildings by reversing with logi, dropping two crates (For assets) inside the near area.

By this do you mean the afterburners on the jets or every vehicle in the game?Arab wrote:27. Holding Shift will give a temporary turbo on vehicles.
Because only jets have a 'turbo' function.

30. The turbo in vehicles can be recharged by releasing your foward button. So you can have constant sprint as long as you release your W+shift key once every 5 secs.

31. Resupply breakdown
There is nothing logical about how resupply work.
Example:
A It takes 29* seconds to resupply from one crate and 1 second to resupply from 29 crates.
B One inventory slot needs max. 1.0 unit to resupply.
example US Engineer kit
Bayonet
Entrenching tool
7 Rifle magazines (6 + 1 loaded) = 1.0 unit or 0.14 per mag. (1.0/7)
Repair kit
1 mine = 1.0 unit
1 C4 satchel = 1.0 unit
5 C4 sticks = 1.0 unit or 0.2 per stick(1.0/5)
1 Field Dressing = 1.0 unit
Total kit = 5.0 units
C You resupply in a radius of 3 meter from the source
Supply crate contains 6.05 units (can only be used by the enemy if it has no flag)
Light supply crate contains 2.95 units
Ammo box contains 2.95 units (can be used by the enemy)
Ammo bag contains 1.95 units (can be used by the enemy)
D1 Supply is depleting when your in range and in need of ammo.
D2 Supply is wasted if you move out of range before you got what you needed
D3 Supply is not depleting when requesting kit's
Tip 1
Now that you know that one ammo bag = 1.95 unit and one field dressing cost 1.0 unit if you only have one, then if you drop 2 ammo bags** on the same spot you got 3.90 units = 3 field dressings and you even got extra ammo for 6 magazines, plus it will take just 6 seconds to resupply.
3.90 > (1x3)+(0.14x6)
3.90 > 3.84
Tip 2
If you use for example the MEC HAT kit and you fired the Eryx and you used your Field dressing you won't have enough ammo from one ammo bag alone since you already used 2.0 unit and the ammo bag is only 1.95.
So do NOT use your field dressing when using a HAT, when in the field away from a supply crates, unless absolutely necessary.
* Ammo bag = 12 seconds
** You can only drop 1 ammo bag from the same kit so you will need 2 rifleman kit's to drop 2 unique ammo bag's
Bonus info:
One Logistic truck can maximum drop 10 crates at a time. If you Drop more than 10, then the first one you dropped will be destroyed.
Mortar pits have a large resupply radius (12 meters) which means if the pits are placed close together the ammo might not go into the one your looking at.
1 ammo bag = 4 impact/proximity rounds or 2 smoke rounds.

OMG NOO!!!! You gave away my secret!
This does work a great time when playing on Insurgency mode, especially when everyone is down at the cache.... you have to find a dead ins body and play dead.
This does work for me a TON. I literally got like 14 kills one round because of 'playing dead'. Yes, it's a **** thing. But it's fun!

Hidden FOBs should never have assets.

Re: Common things people don't know about PR
Everybody can build FOBs on his own. If theres no commander, you can always drop crates, go commander to grab officer kit and build. Its very useful and it only takes you 2 minutes, so dont be lazy. Do it for the team.
If you build a FOB, start shovelling immediately, the longer you wait with shovelling, the longer it takes.
What I often do is that i go to the place to build at, drop my shovel kit there, go back to the crate, go commander and grab officer, go back and build. Now i can start shovelling immediately. Saves a lot of (shovelling)time. Of course it takes time to run to the crate and back to the building location, but the time saved at shovelling can be very important, especiallay when you build close to enemies.
In general avoid building too close to flags. As insurgents do not build close to caches. The hideout will get overrun as soon as the enemies come in. you better build 100m away. better to walk a bit than having no spawn place at all! and it gives you the option to build another hideout in the area.

Re: Common things people don't know about PR
You guys gonna make the new thread each month?
https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f10-pr ... ks-pr.html
unlimited RPG:
1. take an rpg and a rifleman
2. drop an ammo bag
3. reload another one from it
4. reload 1-2 rpg rounds from the bag that is still on the ground
5. repeat from 2
Reported back then in 0.917 and still there, like a feature!

If you were looking at an enemy and he kills you, your compass will still be directed to the position you were looking at.
You now can easily tell your squad were the enemy was shooting you from.

Camping the enemy main with the one and only HAT kit does not make you a team player, unless if you kill every single armor that leaves there main.
If your successful your more than likely to be kicked or banned from a server for base raping.
If your not successful it is because the enemy has a tiny bit of sense and avoid or hunt you down.
My point of all this is not to waste the HAT kit on stupid missions but keep it where it is most needed.

The HAT-kit is being misused by 95% of the community, where it happens doesn't really matter.

That's the truth. Today on Iron Ridge AAS, my team (Militia) overran Chemical Factory. The Russians had built a FOB next to it so we started attacking it. Sure enough, as I charge up on the FOB I see some guy grab a HAT off a crate. I mow him down. Then I wonder what his intention was since we didn't even have any vehicles in the area.

The lone wolf spawn in main join a poorly named squad like free kits or recon (that doesn't recon) or an asset squad without driving any assets and check if:
HAT is available
Sniper is available
Machine gunner is available
AA is available
Then takes a logistic truck and drive off into the sunset.
The cancer of PR
