Mumble Not Launching

Hey, so this is my first time playing in quite some time, when you transitioned to the 1.0 Beta, my shitty system couldn't handle it and my average 25 frames in .9x went to an average of 15 frames in the 1.0 Beta, so when 1.0 officially came out I set off for other games. Now I've got myself an upgraded system, and hopefully I'll be able to play PR with a decent FPS. I recall in the 1.0 Beta PR Mumble pretty much did everything on its own, with very little user work involved at all. After re-installing BF2, BF2 Patches, PR plus some updates, I set my Graphics and Mumble settings (which consisted only of changing my local talk key to Alt), I launched PR and joined up on the CIA server, but my Mumble didn't start. Alt-Tab out, check for the little Mumble icon in the bottom right corner, but nothing. Was there some sort of change in how PR Mumble works and launches between 1.0 Beta and now?

Nothing substantial changed between the Beta and 1.0 release , in relation to PRMumble.

If PRMumble is completely not starting, you can check the compatibility and "run as admin" options on there exes, if you are running win7 , make sure NOT to use any compatibility, and NOT to set it as 'run as admin'

You can also run PRMumble manually, should still link to the PR server and get yuo in the right team/squad... by using \Battlefield 2 Complete Collection\mods\pr\bin\PRMumble\PRMumble.exe

Ah, when I tried to manually launch PR Mumble I used the one installed to C:\Program Files (x86)\PR Mumble, no clue why I have one installed there. I'll try launching the correct one manually when I get home today. As for compatibility, I'm using Windows 7 as the thread prefix would suggest, PR itself seems to be defaulted to run as administrator but I don't think PRMumble's exe is set to run as administrator. I'll update later if I still can't get it working for whatever reason.

C:\Program Files (x86)\PR Mumble is the location of the pre 1.0 standalone PRMumble program, you can safely uninstall that program through the control panel.

My Mumble recognizes and links with BF2, but it does not connect to the server I join automatically. I don't even have a list of PR server channels to join manually like I did in the previous PR Mumble.

PRMumble is integrated into the PRLauncher,
some things changed,
each PR game server has it's own PRMumble server,
and to prevent spamming, you can no longer manually switch between channels

So that leaves you with one possible problem, which I don't think is actually a problem:
when you join a server, you are not being placed in the right subchannel.

If people in your squad can hear you talk when you use the squad chat button. (numberpad 0) by default, then you are linked and being moved to the correct channel.


In PRMumble, you are not switched to the correct channel until you spawn once.

[Everyone is assigned to team 1 or team 2]
[You join a squad]
[You spawn]
You are moved to correct channel, like Team 1, squad 4.

Test again to make sure.

Is there no longer a subchannel for those not in a squad but in the server? I joined the server and spawned it to see the disconnected icon in the bottom right corner of the screen, but not dared to join a squad without a working Mumble fearing a kick. I'll try joining a squad. Again, thanks a ton for the help, I feel so stupid trying to do things the old way with the new Mumble.

Update! I got it working, can communicate with my squad now, but it still tells me I'm disconnected in the bottom right corner and won't show who is talking on the bottom left corner.
