I'd give this a shot only 2 matches.


But honestly, i think this would make NO ONE play normal PR.

It be like...


Tactical Gamer Server (Normal PR): 25/100

Zombie Server... 100/100

Zombie Server 2.,.. 100/100

You get the point...


I don't think a Zombie mod FITS PR.

Why not just have Civi's run around as one team and the other team has to kill them...

@ Matty - your comment is so damn absurd that it doesn't even deserve a reply...

On another note, I would like to thank all the players that participated in the first beta test of PR:Z. I hope you enjoyed the gameplay. Please keep in mind that this is an early WIP of the minimod, it will be tweaked quite a bit based on the feedback received from the beta test.

I would also like to say sorry for the server crashes. I believe I found the cause of all of them and it should be fixed for the next version.

For the ones who participated, please provide feedback either on this thread or on our main thread in the modding section of the forum.

The only part I agree with matty on is
I don't think a Zombie mod FITS PR.
It feels like zombies belong in their own mod and not PR, I guess survival with no zombies is fine but I don't see why you just don't make a separate mod for this, can we also have a PR:Race minimod for cars and racing?

The only positive part about it being in PR is that it might draw new players but then they will mainly be interested in zombies and not military tactical gameplay.

But I don't know, maybe I missed something, this is just my general opinion on this ever since I read about it.

Would be nice if someone could explain, if you agree with this statement "PR:Z is ok but PR:Racing is not" why not etc.

I'm not against PR:Z I just don't really see how it fits in PR and why you don't make a separate mod for it.

Simple: Teamplay.

The beta test event was very successful and it is a very thrilling experience with the Zombies being a nice side-effect. The main thing is to get together with your mates, communicate with other players and hunt them down or cooperate with them in order to survive.

Also, being a zombie as a player requires a lot of tactical maneuvering in order to hunt down survivors.

I think it fits just fine. I played for two hours yesterday. It was quite fun! Sure it's not there yet, but PR can be used as a nice base for this. No problem. PR can be used for many things. It provides good effects and sounds and the hud is very clean. One could as well make it a separate BF2 mod, but if you already like what PR offers, go ahead and use it.

I love all things Zombie. If I can defend a small outpost from 300 approaching zombies with a trusty m4/203 I'll definitely find some enjoyment in it. Even if it's just target practice. :p

My only question is are these slow lumbering zombies or fast running zombies?

Slow, but with a bit of sprint. The springtime is short - but deadly.

My experience in the SG:Z beta event, playing as survivor:

I haven't participated in the SG event from a while back, but I did see some videos. Alright, so I hopped in-game and started in the middle of nowhere. I don't know Dovre very well, so that didn't help me :D . I liked the atmosphere.

After a while I found a buddy, together we moved towards the city. We came across a farm, with a barn and a silo. We were hoping to find weapons there, but found nothing. So we decided to check the house. As I entered the house, I saw someone standing in the corner. That totally freaked me out man :D . Then I got hit from behind, turns out I was looking at a zombie, while another one attacked me from behind! Pretty awesome stuff. I managed to get out of the house and use a patch. It didn't stop the bleeding, so had to use another one. Then continued to get in a field, to hide behind a haystack. My buddy was still out there somewhere. I did hear him on the radio, but didn't see him. I was constantly looking around, to see if any zombies were near me. Nothing in sight, could only hear screams on the radio from my buddy. Then... I got killed - apparently one of the zombies managed to sneak up on me and was able to take me out .

Now that was totally awesome :D .

It's my opinion so shut it. I don't give a cow what you think about what I stated.

I THINK normal PR will have little players in it.
I THINK PR: Z will be OP and make PR Normal Dissapear.



@Nate(GER) can you show me some gameplay?



Anyways. It be better off having PR2: Z. Since you can do more things w/ the engine PR2 is gonna be on.

I really don't see it happening that PR:Z kills normal PR :D

And no, I don't have gameplay, since it was a closed beta test and also the map was dark so viewers would propably see nothing anyways :)

I don't really care if you think it will steal PR's player-base. If you think that way, then I have no idea why you even play PR in the first place... Anyone that loves PR will know that nothing will ever replace it! Except perhaps PR2 which is still PR...

And in terms of it not fitting PR, as mentioned multiple times in this thread, this is a survival focused minimod and no-one has suggested any proper replacement for the zombies as AI opposition.

Also, if you don't see "zombies" as a somewhat realistic thing, then you just lack imagination. A disease that largely increases aggressive behavior and decreases or removes pain sensitivity is not far stretched, there are already diseases with such characteristics. A zombie doesn't necessarily have to be a deceased human that has become carnivorous... it can simply be completely insane and violent humans with higher pain tolerance and lower intelligence.

Funny enough, there are countries that actually have a protocol setup in case of a zombie apocalypse. That show's how popular the damn thing has become. Point is, the minimod will have gamemodes with and without zombies and you only play it if you want. Not only that but it is a external minimod... meaning that is not included in the main mod... meaning that you will have to download it to play on the only private server that it will be hosted in. Got it?!

Even if the majority have voted for a 24/7 server, that will most likely never happen, we will perhaps run it once or twice a week max. So take a chill pill and drop the attitude.

Yeah cause real warfare is all about capping flags and placing fobs where you can respawn. :roll:

IMO Onils minimod is awesome. Although i like Survivors vs. Survivors the most. Without Zombies.

After watching Phillrows gameplay of it.

What I see:

Unarmed players running around.


What will be issues:

The 'survivors' will just climb up a ladder (Like the little cell phone tower in Dovure) and won't be able to get killed.


I guess every single game needs a Zombie Minimod?

I think it would be neat if we had a minimod that would make the teams find ammo and then 'survive'. The ammo is completely random. (It would probably be a ammo crate from a APC or such.)

It wouldn't be labled on the map, yes the faction/players get the main guns (M4, AK74, ect.) but they gotta find the ammo for it. (There will be multiple crates at once.



I just don't think that a Zombie Minimod is needed in PR.

Within BF2 it's not possible to have a gun without ammo, then fill it up with ammo. You set the amount of mags and bullets it can have - and then it just has that amount. You can't start with an empty mag.

They do have "broken" weapons though. They look the same like normal weapons I believe, but under the hood simply have no ammo, ever.

And I think you've made it quite clear now that you don't think a Zombie-minimod is needed, so let's move on from there ;) .

This is a thread to ask people if they want a zombie minimod, so if 0nil didn't want people complaining he shouldn't really have created it ;)

Anyways I'm sorry for being so busy and not being able to try out the beta, it looked very fun.

Saying that you're not interested in a PR:Z minimod is not really the same as saying that it will be the end of normal PR because everyone will be playing PR:Z instead...

Everyone is entitled to their opinion but that one is just purely ridiculous. And the simple fact is that people never bother to read the concept and planning of the minimod before posting stuff.

Repeating myself for the last time: PR:Z is a survival minimod where you are facing other survivors as opposition, it is however up to you to decide if you want to cooperate with some of them or simply play against all. The zombies are added as an extra opposition or distraction on some gamemodes, players also end up playing as zombies to increase the randomness and tactical aspects of their gameplay.

Philrow's video shows a beta test, meaning that it is a WIP. There is still a lot of work to be done to make the zombie game-play fun or at least bearable. Since this is a survival minimod, there needs to be some type of "punishment" for the loss of life at some point and that is introduced by the humanity system and the team-switcher, which is still being worked on.

The game-play is similar to DayZ, not everyone will enjoy running around looking for loot and running away from AI and players to survive. The minimod is made for the ones who enjoy such game-play.

Survival Game Events will continue to be organized using PR:Z as the base of it. Some will be with Zombies and other without. Some will be using the "Survival gamemode", others will be using the "Rivalry gamemode" which we're still working on.

Hope that clears some confusion about how PR:Z works and will work. That is if you bother to read this.

Any thoughts on what you can bring to the survival aspect? Is it possible to add secondary 'health' systems for food and water? Or a secondary 'health' system for vehicles to be used as fuel?

Personally still not interested much in the Zombie affairs, but still very much looking forward on how this develops, most certainly on the survival game type. Keep it up onil ;) I heard good things about the last test.
