Russian players are unable to connect to Mumble

Post by RarWinZip »

Mumble isn't working for Russian players, for some reason. Is it some kind of a political response because of the Snowden issue? I'll try to push some levers to help god blessed USA to bring this filthy traitor back to justice. :D There's no ICMP response from the server(no pong). Can u check what's wrong with it?

My grandpa loves to watch me playing PRM, once he even tryed to play it by himself, this is his picture. I post it to make you to think not only about me, but about my grandpa aswell. He's 91 year old, and PRM is one of the most exciting things that are in his life.

I am sure there is a Russia specific proxy service available to bypass mumble/murmur censorship/blocking, I don't know what it is.
So here is a United Arab Emirates specific proxy service for Murmur/mumble
List of Etisalat-UAE web proxy IPs for UAE web users

As title says:

Using some of these other than the usual (proxy1.emirates.net.ae) may result in a speedup or a slightly faster browsing experience.

USAGE:

Alright, so the problem was from the ISP, they have the ports for mumble blocked for some reason.

Here's how you can bypass it:

Open the BF2 :P R launcher> Open the options> PR Mumble> launch> Configure> Settings> Network

at the proxy options in the same page, change the proxy type to HTTP(S) proxy and use this host name and port:

195.229.241.174 8080
or try any of the other IPs listed below

You don't need to set a username or password. But if you have any other proxy server you want to use, I guess that will work too but this is the one that I'm currently using and has been working so far.

I would like to thank everyone that pointed out the problem and tried to help us with it, You've been great .

Now I will see you (and talk to you) on the battlefield .

Thought I replied to this thread, mustn't've pressed post, it happens :p

The official mumble server, which I assume you are talking about since a few Russian servers have channels on it, was down yesterday. It's back up now so it should all be fine.

FYI, ping won't work on mumble.realitymod.com, it's intentionally disabled.
