Operation Marlin

Post by Arab »

I really love the Operation Marlin music. There's those two themes in ones: The adrenaline, oud-like instrument with the kick beat and the string, resembles the mec's might, and the other theme shows the UN's Intervention, and then it's a mix of both, basically like a storyline.

Has it been mentioned that the French Forces have no restrainers on Insurgency mode?

I've been back on PR for 3 months now and been dying to try out Operation Marlin. For the first time yesterday, I got that opportunity and started a mortar squad.

We went into the city to begun building a FOB, and got swamped by civilians.

GREAT, I thought, as they haplessly ran at me begging "arrest me, arrest me!" I started to give chase, pressing '1', only to notice I was fixing my bayonet!!

I sounded the retreat back to the trucks, as 8 civilians chased after us throwing stones.

Restrainers = knife, bayonet. All of the melee weapons, including restrainers, act in the same manner.

Jesus Christ, France can't win on this map. It's always a MEC victory. There was no problem with Canada as Blufor, they could actually win.

Those Blue helmets are such a good target to aim at for the MEC... I think that the French would throw away their UN helmets as soon as they get attacked by other conventional forces.

Marlin 64 coop crashes.

Was on PRTA 2, but looking at that error, I think its a map issue.

When the SAA is done, couldn't they be the AAS OPFOR on this map? I mean it would realistically be the Syrian Army who would fight france there.

I love the French Weapons though.

But I agree with your post.

I have only seen ONE win from France in this map.

Why?

Because the MEC team had the worst APC and Tank Squads ever. The infantry teamkilled most of them... Since one of the MEC placed Mines on the roads from the MEC's main. They were worried about the French going too close to their main.... lol.

The final score was like 320-0 or something.

OT.

I agree.
And look...
French Forces in Mali. They don't have blue helmets do they...

Matty, you really need to get a bit of a more positive attitude in your post man :D

The blue helmets, in case you didn't know are because they are on marlin under the UN banner, which uses blue helmets for their missions under the 'UN Peacekeepers' thingy. That's why their vehicles are also painted white with UN designations on them.

There were no blue helmets in mali cause until April this year there was no UN mission in Mali. The UN only does 'peacekeeping', it's not a attack force such as what the French did during the intervention in Mali.
The french did that on their own with the support of their allies. After April, when the UN Mission 'United Nations Multidimensional
Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali' started, you see the blue helmets return for it's participating countries.

According to our internal stat tracking for maps, The MEC wins 57% of the maps since 1.0 launch. And since then it had a few changes if I recall correctly. that number isn't bad at all. Other maps have bigger issues.
