Error 1324

Yeah, first time playing (or rather trying to play) PR and I encounter this problem. It says to update the display mode, but when I try it's blank. I've searched for other threads and tried those methods, resetting profile and importing it from gamespy to no luck. Oh and im using a GTX 570.

Why did you not upgrade to Windows 8.1 yet? A LOOOT more comfortable than "just" 8...


Also, just make a complete reinstall (by checking box in the driver installer) of the Nvidia driver in YOUR language (finnish) if possible...

but save your nvidia-profiles if you created any.


ALSO, I recommend you to set audio quality on "high", unless you encounter any sound problems in PR (few soundbugs as a chopper-engine in mid-air where there is no chopper, are normal atm...)

Hiya,
welcome to PR,
I'll take your word on it that you tried the import profile from gamespy solution, and that it did not fix your problems.

First off, please make sure you are running PRLauncher as an admin while using a Windows User Account with Admin Rights. That alone might solve the problem of you not being able to edit the video settings.

Since the PRLauncher can not detect your monitor, can you please tell us

1. the make and model of your monitor , and
2. the native resolution is, and what the native refresh rate is.
(Native refresh rate is usually 58Hz, 59Hz or 60Hz on LCD monitors, and can vary on older CRT monitors)

Does vanilla BF2 online multiplayer work, or do your experience the same problem?

You have a file C:\Users\neonp_000\Documents\ProjectReality\Profiles\0001\video.con
First make a backup of the file, copy and paste it in place
When asked , say keep both files.
so your backup file is named video (1).con


Open the original Video.con with Notepad so we can edit it.

It should look pretty similar to this,

This line:

VideoSettings.setResolution 1920x1080@60Hz
is the line that needs to be edited. When you are sure you know your resolution and refresh rate, edit that line, save the file as video.con, and test PR.
