How to use the HAT?

Hey,

Is there a Guide how to use this new HAT? ops: ops:

There are 2 Amo for this Hat, 1 AntiTank and...dont know what is the other one. And how long is the max Range i can use this, is it accurate on 200-300m? How long i have to stay still before i can shoot? (and hit accurately)

Talking about US Hat I guess? You can always take alternative (right-click) hat from a crate which is guided (like in 0.981).

Ah sorry, yes i mean the US-HAT. Like on Muttrah City. Oh wow, i dont know that i can use the old guided HAT too. THANK YOU!!!

But whats the Point with this new HAT? It is better then the "old" HAT?

The USMC's (Not US Army's) SMAW has a range of 500m and has both HEAT (Anti Tank) and HEDP (Anti structure/FOB/INF) rounds. It also comes with a spotting rifle that fires just a tracer (red bullet). The tracer should fly and fall the same way as the HEAT round, so you fire the spotting rifle first to see where the main weapon will land.

The SMAW also has BUIS (backup ironshights) you can use, by pressing 'C'. I think the BUIS is set to a range of 250m, so a bit further than the iron sights of the RPG7.

What makes the SMAW 'better' is that it has a total of 3 rounds, which is axtra HEAT and additional HEPD round. However, it is limited to 500m range, is unguided like the SRAW (Alt) and the spotting rifle gives away your position.
In addition, it takes too long switching between the weapons and the spotting rifle.
Its very satisfying once you learn how to use it

Just remember to check which "weapon" you have selected as they all look the same, so you don't fire a tracer at an APC.

Of course, no one could make that mistake?

My advice to you would be to create your own server on SP at Muttrah, and PRACTICE!!! This is the best way to learn range and drop. Once you've learned, it's like riding a bike

First start to practice with LAT....HAT is much easier to use *seems to me* so start with harder thing but if you miss you will not get blamed like you would if you use a hat. But if you want to use HAT,a little tip for you---always when you know that enemy CAS,APC,tank is coming....you need to have prepaid HAT. Second is that enemy doesnt know your position. You must know exact location where is he. Be in prone position,positon yourself at your target,crouch/HAT/Shoot/that is all...when you prone then crouch your AIM is steady very fast so that is why you must know where is your target.Armor got weak points/find it. For CAS/chopper you need few their runs to see how pilot fly....when you get that/you will know how to shoot... Chinese HAT is a good one cause you dont need to drive it to a target so you can shoot it pretty fast and hide/reload if you need to....I liked to use a HAT before in PR but it seems that i get to nervs to my squad mates so i stopped it end give a chance to another/but im sneaking behind a HAT so if he falls-im here. You can get fast in some ego trip when you using a HAT....I got some bad movie with using LAT,camera man was without a drink so its a littl shaky but gunner and pilot was pretty good-i was waiting for them with LAT VS.CAS - YouTube

Actually the spotter round falls about a meter short of where the rocket would. So aim up just a bit when you switch from it.

The BUIS default range is like 80 meters. Tried it out on test boot camp and with the iron sights properly arrenged to the targets at 100m the projectile still falls short.
