Project reality wont detect visual C++

Post by Im_bobby »

My buddy installed Visual c++ 2012 (x64) and it still tells him to install it. Hes installed both versions x64 and x86 and tried both and repaired both several times. Any ideas on how to fix it? At them moment he only has the x64 of the 2012 version and has repaired it several times and it still doesn't work. He has Win 7 64 bit.

---> Uninstall Visual C++ 2012 x86 and/or x64
---> Browse to your "prbf2_1.0.29.0_full" (iso) \Dependencies folder
---> Install vcredist_x86.exe and/ or vcredist_x64.exe
---> Problem solved

---> If it still troubles you, install this update:

He's tried that several times. He's tried every single solution at least twice and it still tells him to install it. If anyone can thing of any other idea besides that up there let me know cause hes tried that about 5 times now. He deleted all his 2012 c++ and installed the x64 version for his 64 bit win7 then repaired it... still didn't work even after a restart. He also tried the x86 version and installed then repaired... didn't work. He fully uninstalled BF2 and Project reality and installed BF2 again then installed PR again and then C++ 2012 x64 again and still didn't work.

I thought of one solution.

Reinstall C++ 2012, Go to Microsoft instruction on how to uninstall Visual C++ 2012 and remove it
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2771441

Then install the Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package
Download Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x86) from Official Microsoft Download Center

And then see how that goes. Just a theory.
