Customizable weapons
What about customizable weapons...kinda like AA, but with each rank you gain more equipment becomes accesible. Kinda like goiving your gun a personality..maybe like you would a car. Each kill you get is like $20 and each complted mission like $100. You could purchase upgrades (bigger clips, silencers, nicer scopes, hey maybe even a paint job
lol
Never play cards with any man named "Doc."
Never eat at any place called "Mom's."
And never, never, no matter what else you do in your whole life, never sleep with anyone whose troubles are worse than your own.

How about customizable characters...
I coulda sworn i seen this option when bf2 was first "talked about."
It was either AA or Delta Force where u could change ur badge, etc. I would love this idea, make's players that much different, instead of having all these characters run around looking like clones.

Re: Customizable weapons
While soldiers can and do privately purchase optics (telescopic sights, aimpoint sights) for their service rifles, items like suppressors would have to be issued. What ancillary items you are issued for and place on your weapon depend on the mission factors and what items your unit has available. For the latter, rank probably isn't a factor unless someone in your unit has juice with the supply chain and can get you the new-issue items faster.SaWeD wrote:What about customizable weapons...kinda like AA, but with each rank you gain more equipment becomes accesible. We do not want to add a purchasing system, but there will be different variations of the same weapon across kits (sights, grips, etc.).

Re: Customizable weapons
So this new reality mod then by what you say, will have certain variations of weapons based on certain mission factors and supplies available to your unit? But i don't see how the new "sights, grips, etc" would bring any real game change; as BF2 currently has secondary weapon options[R-DEV wrote:Eddie Baker]While soldiers can and do privately purchase optics (telescopic sights, aimpoint sights) for their service rifles, items like suppressors would have to be issued. yeah i was just looking at some of the awards ive got on BF2 and was looking through my BFHQ and was thinking the samething. Soldiers were supposed to have something on their uniform indictating what squad they are in, and you could unlock decals on tanks and other stuff, and i havent seen any of it in the game. probably be released in a patch.

Re: Customizable weapons
Yes, but those secondary weapons options BF2 has will be changed (since most are unrealistic) and kits (and thus weapon accessories) may vary across different maps and even on the same map.SaWeD wrote:So this new reality mod then by what you say, will have certain variations of weapons based on certain mission factors and supplies available to your unit? Hypothetical Examples:
1. The UK rifleman will have an L85A2 with the SUSAT telescopic sight, where the UK medic will have the L85A2 with iron sights.
2. On one map the US faction might be represented by an Army Airborne or Ranger unit instead of a Marine unit, so the rifleman will have an M4 instead of the M16A4.
3. One rifleman kit option may have the M16A4 or M4 with a close combat optic and vertical foregrip, and another kit may have the same weapon with the ACOG telescopic sight.

Yes, and it was done realistically and authentically, which is our goal. What you're asking for (I guess a sort of combination of the Counterstrike weapon purchasing, only for America's Army type accessories) may be realistic for a game where you play as a mercenary, criminal or vigilante, but not one where you play as a serving member of a nation-state's military in a warzone.SaWeD wrote:yah, but then thats too much like Americas Army..i mean its been done before
