Right, the old GPU is the problem:
Display Memory: 256.00 MB

You'll need to drop all the graphics settings, and try a lower resolution, 1280x720 being your best option.

Did I seriously just see someone recommend someone else buy an X1950 Pro in 2013. I assume that's a joke, right?

I just saw it too.
That's in the trash bin.

Dan, I've warned you before,
do NOT spend other peoples' money on this forum.

And worse, don't give bad info on what you recommend they spend their hard earned money on,

WTF LiToRAlIs, HOW OFTEN do you want me to write that I am NOOT trying to "spend other users money" on this forum, you don't want to understand, right? Or you simply cannot understand that in several cases, you MUST somehow "upgrade" hardware in a computer to get better performance out of it?? PRAYING to the computer won't help!!!

So, Antaran, IF I understood you correctly here (you just mention four numbers there, "4, 8, 7, 0") , PLS confirm that you had a Radeon HD 4870 card BEFOOORE the (for whatever reason) even WEAKER Nvidia GeForce 8600 GT ??? IF so, check your pm. OTHERwise, ok, you MIGHT read it but ignore the suggestion in there and enjoy the statistics I worked ~ 2 hours on, it should look funny... :D

@ Psyrus, what is so funny about a " buy an X1950 Pro in 2013 ", only thing being that it is a "used" card? There are several WORKING copies still availible on eBay for a VERY good price, and since " antaran " currently uses a 2007-built card it shouldn't sound too "funny" in ANY way using that Pro card which wasn't even build a year earlier...

@ Litoralis: And instead of JUST mentioning how a user with a problem here in the forum can get 100 fps (or whatever playable 24-25 fps ) with (almost) lowest possible settings where he will be able to have a HUUUUGE advantage on the servers (I am not going to give reason here, would sound too strange, but you know what I mean when I describe "texture setting - low" ... ) which will ruin the fun for EVERYONE in the PR community and that means less people will play PR. Is that what you want? No, indeed, the whole world should play it and improve in tactics, teamwork and leading skills, and all humanity would be a very VERY happy folk. -.-

Oh yes, in the @ Psyrus part I forgot to mention that my first GPU was a 7650 GS ("Medion"- german seller, -version of the 7600 GT ) and it played BF2 as a CHARME back then in 2006... :D SO, having a X1950 Pro RUNNING IN CROSSFIRE config, OMFG I could've played Bad Company 2 already in more than Full HD back then!!!

(ofc. two then, for crossfire)

details on site Newegg.com

Do NOT buy this unless we will suggest you sth. else the upcoming days, Antaran!!!

Antaran, please don't buy anything based on the recommendations thus far in the thread.

Spending money on some stopgap card that provides little-to-no performance benefit and still only has 512mb of onboard vram would not be a wise move.

If you do have any interest in purchasing hardware, please post a new thread in the relevant sub-section with your budget and specs, then you can get some decent recommendations.

I just found out about the HD 5670 card. -.- also around 40 bucks ( $ ) and performing UBER in DirectX 9 games in Full HD! :D That's probably the BEST VGA card for PR out there atm. for so few bucks! :) ;) 8)

Only problem, only avalible on Ebay, "used"... -.- :p

Benchmark Results: Far Cry 2 - ATI Radeon HD 5670: DirectX 11 For $99

actually, the 4870 was one of the most powerful cards to be released publicly.

there is a "tom's hardware" article about it somewhere if your interested.

edit: I will probably get a 7850 since it's price is dropping. Last I checked it could be obtained for $120-USD

Yeah, if you don't wanna go for some other 250 $ high-end model by Nvidia for example, if you only gonna spend 120 $ on a card, then I am sure the 7850 is the right choice. But JUST to be sure, wait for confirmation from some devs.

Edit: this model is actually a liiiiittle bit faster than the 7850 : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6814121691

Compare them here:

http://www.pc-erfahrung.de/fileadmin/ph ... 320&ARCH=0

http://www.pc-erfahrung.de/fileadmin/ph ... 327&ARCH=0

Full list here: http://www.pc-erfahrung.de/grafikkarte/ ... liste.html

The 560 Ti V2 (448 cores) has a little higher texture-filling rate (but lot more power-hungry!). ;) What that means, devs may be able to explain.

I still think the 7850 is a wise choice btw.
