@crazygamelover
There is no 1hit kill in PR other than headshots that I am aware of.
The M16 sounds like its 800rpm but its clocked at 900rpm due to the bf2 engine.
The AK47 has higher recoil and more often not the third and following shots miss at point blank.
I'm really fond of the G3 because to me it feels like it has lower recoil and more damage compared to the ak47. And the aks-74u is so butchered right now; almost the same recoil as an ak47 but damage of an pistol.

7.62x39 guns should be 1 shot black and white to the chest, 2 shots kill and 7.62x54 should be 1 shot kill to the chest and head.

You have to admit the AK74su acts like a completely different weapon now though. It used to be one of my go-to weapons, like a hard hitting MP-7 with more range it had manageable recoil but was able to place accurate shots up to 300 meters when on semi. Unfortunately after the adjustments the recoil sways to the sides too much to utilize the high ROF, it feels like the deviation is different at range, and I miss the RKG (hopefully this kit gets the grenades back)! I guess you could argue it's balanced by the availability of the G3, which fills half of the role the AKsu used to.

Thats would be true except you must remember that Blufor have Helmets and body Armour which offer pretty good protection.'[FSA wrote:IrRahman;1968784']7.62x39 guns should be 1 shot black and white to the chest, 2 shots kill and 7.62x54 should be 1 shot kill to the chest and head.

I think it already is that away against other unarmored targets. When using insurgent weapons as blufor during emergencies the AK47 is awesome.'[FSA wrote:IrRahman;1968784']7.62x39 guns should be 1 shot black and white to the chest, 2 shots kill and 7.62x54 should be 1 shot kill to the chest and head.
You die quick as insurgent because of the lack of body armor and scopes.

These rounds penetrate most of the amours though.waldov wrote:Thats would be true except you must remember that Blufor have Helmets and body Armour which offer pretty good protection.

ESAPI plates actually tend to stop 7.62 on a very regular basis. Our linguist took one in the chest. The round I have ever seen hit an ESAPI at under 50 meters was 5.56, the 7.62 was always over 100m.'[FSA wrote:IrRahman;1968999']These rounds penetrate most of the amours though.
EDIT:.
Here is a decent video, couple of guys shooting at a busted ESAPI. ESAPIs are designed to take a hit from 30-06 AP.

Yeah armored plates will generally stop most bullets that the Insurgents can field though a couple 7.62x54R rounds would hurt like a *****/leave you unable to continue fighting.Rabbit wrote:ESAPI plates actually tend to stop 7.62 on a very regular basis. Depends on the range. Not to mention you can easily keep fighting with some broken ribs. This is really overused, not sure what size round he was shot with, but you can pretty easily stay in the fight.waldov wrote:Yeah armored plates will generally stop most bullets that the Insurgents can field though a couple 7.62x54R rounds would hurt like a *****/leave you unable to continue fighting.

Getting back on topic, I wanna express my hope that in the upcoming patch the Insurgency mode will be repaired, just as the mod developers promised recently. Keeping my fingers crossed, keeping my hope alive.

Knowing the Devs they'll probably try if not succeed, TBH the only thing id like to see is Insurgents being far faster then Blufor, apart from matching there tactics it is also realistic given that they carry half as much equipment.saamohod wrote:Getting back on topic, I wanna express my hope that in the upcoming patch the Insurgency mode will be repaired, just as the mod developers promised recently. I had a feeling someone would ask.

K4on posted it. Apparently he's talked about how the insurgents will be improved in other posts as well but I haven't been able to find them. Anyway, I'm hoping for the best.

I like the sound of that. wonder how it would play out. think it would be good for ambushing, allow you to hit blufor then escape.

They need to slow down armored soldier's in this game in general. I mean back .98 the maps were HUGE and now you can decide to run across them. Ill admit I don't play very often but when I do trans is a joke. No one uses movement tactics anymore cause you can just SPRINT. it's b*llsh*t.waldov wrote:TBH the only thing id like to see is Insurgents being far faster then Blufor, apart from matching there tactics it is also realistic given that they carry half as much equipment.

Yeah, I also think infantry is way too fast considering the body armor and other gear. Also, I've been shot numerous times as an insurgent because an infantryman would spray me with his m16 while side-strafing rapidly. Felt very arcade-like.
I would prefer it if movement in general (and especially for conventional infantry, which would give a much-needed advantage to the insurgents) was slowed down to make things more realistic and encourage careful positioning and tactics, not rushing and spraying. What does everyone think? Is it worth suggesting this as a separate thread?

Yes I'm starting to notice that point too. I have posted comment about AK47 recoil being too much compared to lower recoil M16 class and higher recoil G3 class few times, but I either didn't realize or forgot to say about the Side-to-side movement of recoil. It's not so much that upward recoil is unreal on those AKs but the side movement that makes them useless at burst/fullauto fire. It is especially pronounced on AK47 compared to AK74/SU or SKS.Murphy wrote:You have to admit the AK74su acts like a completely different weapon now though. Btw I also notices now that G3 has less recoil than M14? Not sure about FAL. Is it intentional that G3 is more controllable?

Re: Release Iraqi Insurgency mode is not fun :/
I hate how the weapons and kits are setup/balanced.
Noone uses the AKs now because the G3 is a better choice.
AKS-47 feels like it has higher recoil than the AK47.
The AKS-74U has equally as high recoil as it's older brothers.
Bolt-Actions and SKS are underused because the 870 is an overall better choice.
Civis not being able to swim is stupid. It restricts civis usefulness bigtime. Bring it back to when you could shoot civis in water without penalty.
The Sapper needs his SKS back. Pistol is nice until you have to defend yourself with it. Blufors got armor and the Pistols do what like 20 damage per shot? So most of the time you gotta empty an entire magazine point blank into a blufor soldier to take him down.
Pickup kits discourage teamplay. Most of the time it's a mad dash to the kit spawn and people don't value their lives anymore when they have heavy assets.
Most blufor can take you down in 3 shots to the chest. As insurgent it can take from 3-8 shots to kill a blufor. The most reliable killers are the 870 and G3(2-3 shots and 3-4 shots respectively).
There's not enough anti armor and heavy assets to use against blufor APCs, LAVs, Tanks, etc. Most people will die before setting up and/or setting off their IEDS.
The arrest mechanics are whack and favor martyrdom to win for Insurgents.
Giving the RPK, PKM, & SVD sidearms is a bad idea because if they had shovels, people would not go off on their own instead of helping build hideouts.
RPG gunners should have both Shovels and Sidearms.
The lack of scoped weapons and rockets is a real hindrance.
