Suggestion of faction

Post by Audin »

I know that the Brazilian faction is actually inactive, but i think that its a good faction that will have good maps , my suggestion to the faction is to make Brazilian Army vs Haitian Revolt
and put brazil vs paraguay in a possible intervention due to political instability.

The Brazilian Faction is not inactive, it's just not official, you could use of some search.

Not only that, we need manpower to do such thing, if you want to know the team working on it right now, it's only me and another guy doing some cool models.

Also, I won't be putting anything that isn't real, so no Brazil x Paraguay thing, perhaps in the future if something really happens. And no, there's no plans for any map in Haiti, at least not now, there isn't even a war happening over there in the Iraq fashion, it's just the Brazilian paratroopers acting as police against some drug traffickers.

I think that one Moderator will come here to close this, as I don't think that this is the proper location for a suggestion, but the CBPR forums are always open for that matter.

Why the hell this was moved to here? Why not just lock the other thread? :p

Not a part of it. But it would be really cool to se the MEC fighting the Syrian army. And perhaps we could se the Syrian army in some INS?

Will the SAA T-72 have the same type of smoke as MEC T-72? I think the smoke that "pours" out of the tank is more useful than the grenade-smokes(which 50% of the time you don't even know where they are going to land). Would be really cool to leave a smoke trail when retreating on narrow streets and stuff, and it would open up for more advanced tactics with smoke screens etc. If this is possible.

Well guys its good to see some modding action for faction's.
But there is one thing bothering me.

Why make a faction thats almost indentical to the MEC?
In the meanwhile there are so many other factions still in the making?
Why need lend them a hand?
What are the difference's?

But keep on modding guys!

How is it identical to MEC? MEC main base weapon is the G3, syria is AK series rifles. MEC have a lot of optics, only a handful of kits will for the Syrians.

Vehicles wise its because Russian equipment was poured into other counties. This really doesn't matter much, as only 1 out of 3 maps for syria have them facing another conventional army.

Honestly its about time we had some proper Opfor true factions. Kinda tired of MEC. It doesnt feel realistic, and I for one welcome it.

T-72(sort off) tank
F1 grenade
RPG26 AT
SA-7 AA
mi-17 trans helicopter
MIG-29 jet
BTR-60 APC
UAZ jeep
the voices

Together with the basics like OPFOR mines and smoke grenades this is all that the Syrian Army for PR has in common with MEC. Can you please elaborate this sentence and where you got your information?
'Why make a faction thats almost identical to the MEC?'
Tbh it has way more in common with the PR Russian faction then any other :D Anyway, lots of factions share assets. It's more about the theater of Syria as a whole that you try to make when making a comfac really. It's much more then 'just a faction'.

The maps, the alternative rebel faction(hopefully :D ) and a brand new army to play with. Which is much different then MEC or any faction for that matter. It has it's own identity. You can simply press my signature, and check the designplan to see it has NOTHING to do with MEC. Much like other nations which are in the middle east that aren't similar to what MEC is.

But I feel MEC can be see as it's own fictional nation. Not Iran, not Syria, just MEC. It fits well for years now in PR and there is no reason to replace it.

If people are wondering, not much development as of late. I cannot continue until I have 3D artists who are willing to finish what is left. The only thing well under development is our maps. One of which you can test TONIGHT.
Newcommunity.eu ? View topic - JFTD 26.12.2013 - Syrian Event Map

If these models don't get finished, then I might have to lower the expectation to see the faction come to live soon. What can easily be done is finish what we have and put these assets and maps to use under the MEC faction. Which would give the MEC more assets (shilka, MIG21, MIG23,GAZ trucks) and maybe we can give the insurgent faction some new toys as well in form of vehicles(T55,AA-techie). Together with the maps this should be a well enough offer until on the long term we can get the new 3D models done.

wow i knew it! i think the play style of the rebels would be like taliban (or whatever theyre called in game) but more heavily armed (like with auto cannons and tanks).

should u instead start working on it for PR2 though? or both simultaneously would be best
