New PSU with a new GPU?

So as of yesterday, i purchased a Radeon R9 270x(I will be Cross Firing in the future when the card is cheaper and on sale in the next year). I will also be buying 8GB DDR3 1600 RAM in a month or three. Since I have a 500w psu I want to get a new one with a higher wattage, like around 750w.

The problem is, the psu I want has 4 x 6+2-pin PCI-E connectors, but my GPU needs 2 x 6-pin PCI-E connectors. I'm not sue if it matters, but I'm not familiar with PSU's still.

Realistically:
R9 270X Maximum GPU power draw is ~145W using GPGPU stress test at 100% load

A phenom 965 BE Power Usage And Temperature Benchmarks - AMD Phenom II X4 965 BE: Same Speed, Less Power normal system + R9 270X in a gaming demo scene for stress testing is less than 350W.

normal system + CROSSFIRE 2x R9 270X in a gaming demo scene for stress testing is less than 490W.

In short, save money for the RAM first,

then , you can get by easily with a 700W Silver or Gold 80+ rated PSU,

That Seasonic Gold is as good as any Gold rated 750W on the market in the price range.

You did your homework, and you did it right.

PSUs have lots of variables, most of which are irrelevant to even advanced gamers.

Just understand that the efficiency of a PSU is a curve, where it is low efficency at 10%, peak efficiency at ~55%, and low efficency past 80% of the rated Wattage.

And then the other thing to note is the highest power draw GPUs in SLI/Crossfire do well have PSUs with dual 12V rails, but that's not a concern really with the R9 270X.

You can search for: 'psu efficiency curve chart' and any make, model number , or model series of PSU, and usually find someone who has real world tests as compared to marketing curves.

It was tough trying to find the Power Consumption(pc) on my current GPU. Once I did, the pc was greater than the R9 270x. I also tried the PSU Calculators, and found that my current GPU is using more power that the R9 270x(in the PSU Calculator, I used a Radeon HD 7850 since the 270x is based off that card).

I am going to use your advice, [R-COM]LITOralis.nMd and get the RAM first, then the PSU in a few months.
