I believe that the British had just as much a part to play in Iraq as the Americans, but this is never really discussed unfortunatly. I would love to see this MOD have the Kit selections to be SAS or Royal Marines [special forces, depending on the MAP], Queens Regiment [Normal Infantry], Royal Hussars [Engineers], I am not too sure that a sniper rifle is a good idea, since they would not be used a lot [unless it is high urban warfare] above all, I would really really like to see a map where there was a royal navy frigate capable of firing the track missles etc onto the shore, I really believe nad hope this MOD will become as big as, if not better than Desert Combat, and/ or PoE, I wish you guys the best of luck with this game, and I will stay tuned here to see how things are going!
good luck and thnx for reading!

Remember them!
They fought for us!
they bleed for us!
remember those whom have given their lives in order for us to sleep safley at night!

Welcome aboard, Darryl.
As for the classes, we do hope to have different units of the same nation-state (in-game faction) represented on different maps by distinctive uniforms and/or equipment, when applicable. As for different units representing different classes on the same map, with the exception of special operations, that would be a bit more difficult to represent in game except by changing the name of the class. After all, assault pioneers (similar to combat engineers, only less sane, according to Evilhomer), riflemen, anti-tank gunners, etc. are found in all of the UK infantry regiments.
As for the Royal Marine Commandos, they have their own special operations / deep reconnaissance units (the Special Boat Service, Brigade Patrol Troop and Fleet Protection Group), but their principal role is as a conventional light infantry brigade tasked with amphibious assault. And, excuse my language, they are fucking great at it, but are one of the most under-recognized units, it seems. So the Royal Marines could represent the UK on a map with every class (except the ones that come from attached Army or Royal Navy units), not just special operations.

Enlisted or Conscripts
Jundi (Private)
Jundi Awwal (Private First Class / Lance Corporal)
Aâ$™rif (Corporal)
Wakil Raqib (Sergeant)
Raqib (Staff Sergeant)
Raqib Awwal (Master Sergeant)
Raâ$™is Ruquba (Sergeant Major)
Officers
Mulazim (Second Lieutenant)
Mulazim awwal (First Lieutenant)
Naqib (Captain)
Raâ$™id (Major)
Muqaddam (Lieutenant Colonel)
â$˜Aqid (Colonel)
â$˜Amid (Brigadier General)
Liwaâ$™ (Major General)
Fariq (Lieutenant General)
Farioq awwal (General)
Mushir (Field Marshal)
For those of you wondering where I got this, I cut and pasted it from a Word document I made a few years back as a reference for a paper-and-dice RPG I was running.

The MEC is supposed to be a coalition force of several nation-states, so the ranks could vary. For a rough idea, here's the rank structure for the Saudi army, which is probably shared by many other Arab states. Rough equivalents are in parentheses. Don't ask me how to pronounce them, though.Wolfmaster wrote:i don't. but still mec ranks.... if he knows those and we can confirm he's right i'm getting him a virtual cookie.(with chocolate cover)

well im glad you put in that last line because i definitly was wondering where you got that! but talk of rank brings up another question: will PR have a seperate rank system from bf2? is that possible with EA being very conservative as to having ranked server?
-sorry, i think this was already brought up in another thread but we are on the subject
