well i guess im looking at it from a perspective with the goal of expanding the conflict as much as possible, i think that if it gets to the point of either opening up another front and grabbing some oil or letting the entire war drive stall, china would take the route of opening another front. (perhaps russia could join nato?) maybe the russians would attack china instead, giving them the multiple front situation to deal with. if russia is supplying weapons to the MEC, the EU and NATO wouldnt be happy, so offering russai a spot there is a good idea for the storyline, maybe the EU offer is made to stop weapons dealing to the MEC and later the NATO offer is made in order to send russians into china so that the side of the US and Britain (they need a name, 3rd coalition? vs maybe the... well for now the opposition) can bring the war to a conclusion more quickly. then we would have a 3rd coalition expeditionary force made up of russia (maybe germany and canada?) on the north front of china, a southeastern front faught by a 3CEF made up of australia, the US and england against a force of chinese and northkorean troops (throw japan on one team or another) and then the MEC would be left fighting another 3CEF made up of israel the US and england.

i was thinking about jungle combat and more armies into PR when i had an idea it will probably not be able into the mod but hell ill tell you anway. and yeah there is a sort of jungle combat in bf2 but its alot like a wood as it is china, and i think the dense, humid jungles of south east asia would make more intresting gameplay.
A british regiment on a training exercise in Brunei is attacked by pro-communist guerillas trying to overthrow the sultan. The british government accuses China of supporting and supplying the terrorists and using propaganda in order to rid brunei of any british millitary presence before attempting to support a full scale commie revolution in malaysia and indonesia. two days later the sultan is assaniated and the guerillas declare brunei a socialist state and "invite" the chinese millitary to help ensure the regimes surviaval, by the next morning the might of the chinese army is mounting on the malaysian border. Britain instantly declares war on all chinese forces in brunei, australia quickly allies itself with the british. in response china invades malaysia and pushes through to borneo bringing the united states into the war on the brits side. a large coalition force led by the british attempt a beach landing on the coast of sarawak meeting heavy chinese defenses. i think this would be a good idea with loadsa close combat jungle fighting and amphibious ops as well as alot stuff with helis. and u could bring the aussies and maybe some asian armies as well. if any of u have other ideas post them as well#

thats my idea

this hole thread is something that should be brought up in 2 or 3 months IMHO im not objecting to it, far from it. just saying that theyve got enough on there hands and id rather get the first build out with the british stuff and then once all that stuff is perfected and released, start thinking about what the future holds

im just anxious for the first build

we'll, we're thinking ahead, and more on a storyline basis that can be going on during the same battles that we will see immediately in the release of the mod, these ones can be added later after PR gets started, or of course they might not, depending on the devs decisions.

either way i think this is a good way to be creative and as someone who likes to read and write this kinda stuff its pretty fun :D

If you want to include NATO factions there is no need to create a world war which it seems this thread is leaning towards. All you need to do is create theoretical situations where NATO may be involved such as in Somalia. PR could creat a 3 or 4 mission spin off of a conflict maybe?

A nice story there. Although it really doesn't cover the entire war. If this was the case it would only be the United Kingdom and China fighting in South-East Asia. The MEC and United States would really have no business down there...

nah, i think the whole thing ought to tie together somehow, that takes a solid story line. the chinese wouldnt fight in all these places if it werent working toward 1 goal. this doesnt mean that there cant be seperate stories for seperate soldiers that could be highlighted for each country
