Hello,
Since I updated this evening to v1.1.0.0 of Project Reality BF2 I cannot join any server because the game is crashing without error message (it only tells me that the game closed) whenever I try to join a server (I tried multiple servers).
I noticed it doesn't crash at the same time, for instance my loading percent reached around 50% , other attempts ended right after I double-clicked a server.
Please help me.
PR is crashing after v.1.1.0.0

Hi Varok, sorry for the delay in responding, been pretty busy.
Your situation can have multiple causes, so we'll have to try multiple fixes.
Can you please post your system specs, it will help here.
1. defrag the hard drive that ProjectReality is installed on.
2. does vanilla BF2 online multiplayer work? We should test, to see if it's a BF2 issue, or a PR issue.
3. Run PR in windowed mode: when the game crashes, a Windows popup message will appear explaining the error, screencapture or copy down the exact error message, and we'll know what we're trying to fix.

In PR, If you crash at the splash screen, or the screen goes black and then crashes to desktop, try to start PR in windowed mode by following the directions below:
Start PRLauncher->
Options->
Video Tab->
UNTICK the Fullscreen tickbox->
Chose a display resolution and refresh rate that is smaller than your desktop resolution from the drop down menu, or create a custom resolution->
Click Apply
If you start in windowed mode and it CTDs, a Message will pop up telling you the problem. Take a screenshot or write this down and post it to this thread.

Should also check if creating your own local server crashes

Re: PR is crashing after v.1.1.0.0
Thanks for the answers, but meanwhile I did something else. I reseted all the settings of the game to the default values, resolution, graphics, sounds ect and it works now. The servers load complety and I'm able to play, so I guess that the problem is related to one of the video settings.

Do you have a sound card? Do you have a Creative X-Fi audio card?
Try settings your audio settings to Software provider. Then try to host a local LAN server to test.

Did your PC crash to a bluescreen of death while you had BF2 or PR running?

It sometimes crashes with BSOD and sometimes it crashes to desktop, but I never got the error message while it CTD'd because of the fullscreen mode.[R-COM]LITOralis.nMd wrote:Did your PC crash to a bluescreen of death while you had BF2 or PR running?
I'll try changing the sound settings and do as you instructed, Litoralis
