pr says bf2 not updated to patch 1.5

Post by isaac.eck »

Hi guys, I found out about pr a little while ago, and was really excited to play it. However, when I try to install it, I have to physically show it my bf2 root file, and then it tells me it cant verify if v1.5 patch has been installed. I have deleted all my mods, and reinstalled v1.5 patch, and it still doesn't work. BTW, I downloaded the torrent version, and first opened the iso with 7zip, when I got this error, I downloaded power iso and used it, still got the same problem. Can someone please help me? thanks :(

you have to install 1.4 patches before 1.5

have you tried doing that?

ok, I installed it using desura, and was able to get the launcher working, but now when I try to start it, it tells me that the file NovintHFX.dll is missing.

Here is a copy of my file:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/hr5zsbwuewjohfm/NovintHFX.dll

This goes in the root BF2 folder, same directory that has the vanilla BF2.exe file.

Hello
I have similar problems. Running win7, and after installing bf2 from original dvd, i cannot get pr installed.
Firstly, (b4 installing pr) the bf2 game starts up fine. Punkbuster updates and all looking good.
When looking at the read me files on dvd, i see the patch included are the 1.41.
After downloading 1.5 i get error message that i have a newer version installed..
When installing pr, both the bf2 and pr refuses to start up, just a couple of minutes with normal start up menues, and after dark screen a couple seconds, shuts down with no error messages.
Same computer have been running same and heavier games earlier without problems, so no problems with hardware. Changed harddisk a while ago, so need to install everything from scratch again.
Hope someone can help :-)

From bf2 login menu: version 1.0.2442.0 So i'm not sure which patch are included here?
Downloaded (with desura) pr again as the files i'm having where a bit old... When attempting to install i get error message that it cannot be verified that i have 1.5 installed, and installation stoppes.
When trying to install 1.5 it says i have a newer version installed.. getting frustrating this :-(

Hi bjornblood,

Your DVD is so old I actually don't know which patch you need.
, you need to find the BF2 PATCH 1.22 FULL ,
here is a link, IDK if it still works: Battlefield 2 Patch: 100 Mbps Fast File Download Servers
then you can download the 1.41 full and 1.5 full from the official PR installation guide here:
