Game Rule Clarifications

Post by jordachejeans »

So I have a few questions about the game and rules, as it seems the 1.0 manual hasn't been updated since .9x

-The manual says if you arrest a ANY insurgent (civi or gun-wielder), you get 10 intel points. However, arresting an armed insurgent causes no "You arrested an insurgent" message for BLUFOR and has no effect on the arrested weapon-wielding insurgent's spawn timer, which leads me to believe that only civis can be arrested anymore, am I right in my assumption?

-The manual says that an infantryman loses a ticket when he dies. However, I've heard recently that a ticket is lost the instant you're critically wounded, and then another ticket is lost when you press "give up" and become dead-dead. is this the case?

-the manual says that to discourage unnecessary ticket loss, a player cannot "give up" until a minute has passed after becoming critically wounded. However, I can give up the instant I'm critically wounded. Was this timer ever implemented at all? I kinda like that 1 minute idea.

im sure a dev can tell you for sure but as far as i know, you lose a ticket whenever you are critically wounded, then another when you are dead-dead.

the feature of not being able to give up for a minute was in PR briefly, but taken out in one of the earlier 1.0 patches, no idea why.

As for the insurgent-arresting, i believe you still get 10 intel points for arresting any insurgent, kindof hard to tell though. well theres your quick 5 minute, uninformative answer. im sure a dev will be along soon enough to fill in the gaps.

Paul is right about the ticket loss when wounded.

The no-Give-Up feature was taken out because there was no proper way to show the player that he cant give up and it was not that easy to implementent a timer. Many players were confused about this, so DEVs decided to wait until this is fixed before the no-give-up timer will come again.

I just had a peek at the insurgency code, and it seems that if you kill an insurgent (any insurgent) with a ziptie, you will get the +10 intel points. The reason it doesn't show the +10 intel message is because they're [civ kill vs insurgent kill] running off two different functions. I'm not sure why, but yeah you should try to ziptie insurgents whenever possible, as far as I can tell :)

Negative, only zipties. They are handled under different checks.
